~The Kitten and the Wolf~

River mewed and looked surprised some when he pinned her down, purring happily when he praised her though and started to purr as she looked at him.

I did good? I am so happy~

She said as she purred happily and swished her tail, getting up and practically bouncing around Bramble since she was so happy.

Brambletail watches River as she bounces around him, smiling at her happiness.

You have so much energy River. You would do well to enjoy your youth while it lasts.

He tells her, his eyes full of longing.

River looked at him and purred happily as she jumped up onto his back carefully, going up to sit on his head and lick his ears.

I want to spend my energy being with you and helping you be happy again.

(OOC: I don't know if you've ever told me what color of kitten that River is. Could you please?)

Brambletail gives a huff as River's weight on her head makes him lie down onto his stomach.

I know you do River. And I appreciate your companionship I really do. But I am old little one. And I am exhausted.

He tells her, relaxing his muscles as he puts his chin onto his paws and closes his eyes to let River lick at his ears. She was young after all. But he knew that he had to return his forest to the way it was before. It was the only thing that he wanted to see before he left it to the next generation to take care of.

(ooc:*wonders why ish important* Is she a normal kitten? Like normal house hold cat?)

River purred quietly as she licked his ears and watched him relax some.

Go ahead and sleep, I will keep an eye out for you.

(OOC: Idk is she? She's your kitten, you pick things out for her.)

Brambletail sighed and smiled slightly at River's words, relaxing more.

Thank you little one. I think I will rest for now.

He responds, relieved to be able to rest easy for a while.

(ooc: ouo she must be a lynx kitten \ouo/ because those ish the best kittens)

River purred and licked his ears lightly for a bit longer before she looked around and twitched her ears.

(OOC: Okay thanks.)

As River looks around and twitches her ears, she sees the ash from the day before slowly begin to fall once again. It's too slow to really bother Brambletail as he sleeps but River can tell that it seems to be coming from somewhere nearby. Off to the east as a matter of fact.

River twitched her ears some and looked around when she saw the ashes again, noticing where they where coming from she jumped off of Bramble's head and walked off into that direction. She sniffed the air as she did since she didn't want anything to sneak up.

River doesn't smell anything out of the ordinary as she follows the direction of the ashes. They blow into her face a bit as she follows their path to where they're coming from.

River shook her head some when ashes where blowing into her face, sniffing still as she kept walking and was focused on that alone rather then thinking about how she was leaving Bramble behind.

It doesn't take too long before River can finally see the source of the falling ashes: an abnormally large fire in the middle of a huge clearing. Around it, River can see huge wooden carvings of various large animals that actually looked completely untouched by the fire just months ago. Everything in this clearing seemed to have been completely untouched by the fire in fact. And in the back of the area, River could see a stone carving of an animal that looked very familiar to her. It was one of a large Dire Wolf that seemed to have been put there only just recently.

River looked at the fire and her ears went back some, looking at the carvings as well since she was confused now. She stayed low as she walked into the clearing and closer to the carving of the wolf she saw since it looked the most recent and interesting as she went to sniff at it.

The carving was very ornate and extremely meticulously crafted to match every detail of the animal that it was depicting. When River went to sniff the carving, she got a nose full of Brambletail's scent. But looking around, Brambletail wasn't anywhere near her.

River looked at the carving confused after smelling it, pawing at it some since she was confused how it smelled like him when she hadn't seen him go near something like it. She looked at it a bit more before she looked at the fire and wondered how she could get it out.

The fire is about twice River's own size and the only nearby water source is a small river which looks to have been blocked off by a huge log. The river seems to be coming from some rapids in the northeast end of the area and the log seems to be too large for River to move on her own. However, she can see that there's a strange carving etched into the side of the log but it's covered in ashes so she can't tell what the carving is depicting.

River pouted as she saw the water blocked by the log, seeing she was unable to move it on her own. When seeing the markings though she went over and pawed the ashes off curiously.

Upon pawing away the ashes on the log, River can see an image of a small Lynx kitten on it. It smells like it had just been put there by something or another but whatever had put the carving on it was definitely long gone by now as there were no traces of another animal's scent on it.

River twitched her ears some and looked around confused, worried as well now as she started to run back to the camp she and Bramble made together since she wanted to make sure he was okay.

River makes it back to camp faster than she had when she'd followed the source of the ashes because they weren't being blown into her face. Brambletail was in the same place that she'd left him, sleeping as the ashes fell around him. His fur was now grey with the color of the ashes that were falling onto him and for some reason they weren't bothering him as he slept.

River looked at Bramble and moved over to paw at his muzzle, wanting to show him what she had found.

Bramble! Wake up!

Brambletail gives River a grumble when she paws at his muzzle, not waking up. Seems he really was very tired as he simply goes back to sleep.

River pouted when he went back to sleep after grumbling at her, huffing a bit as she flopped onto the ground in front of him and just pawed at his noise.

Brambletail eventually gets some of the ashes from River's paw up his nose which causes him to sneeze on her without knowing that she was in front of him. He shakes his head and blinks at her in front of him when he sits up and onto his haunches.

Goodness me that was an interesting way to wake up. I was having such a lovely dream too. What is it that I can help you with little one?

He asks her.

River sat up quickly and purred a bit when he finally woke up, trying to nudge him to get up.

I need your help to move a log! I found out what was making the ashes!
