His Daughter's Tower Empty His Daughter's Tower

The world of Carthus. At one point, this was a shining utopia of Humanity, a world united in perfect harmony. A sprawling city covered this entire world's landmass, towers reaching up to the heavens as vertical gardens, massive factories, medical advancement centers, and so much more. In this man-made Eden, all things were balanced and at peace. Then, one day...the world shattered. A massive vortex opened in the middle of the largest ocean on the planet, sucking the very planet in on itself and nearly ripping the very landmasses that clung to its surface from their place. Ragnarok, the end of the world, had finally come, and from its yawning maw within the ocean, came the Dragons. Massive, scaled beasts of incredible power and intellect, their goal was the complete annihilation of humanity. The people looked to the heavens, crying to their gods for deliverance, for salvation. However, their cries went unanswered. The Dragons, led by the Elder Wyrm called Jormungandr, brought humanity low, leveling the city that covered their world and leaving it as not but industrial ruin and monuments of a time long since past. The humans accepted their fate, and waited for the last of their pockets of survivors to be wiped out.

But then, from the ruins, He appeared. A man, armed with a strange weapon and genetic augmentations developed in whatever place he had held himself in during the initial invasion, emerged from what appeared to be nowhere. He was strong, beautiful, and wise to the point that any who heard him were overwhelmed with the urge to follow him. And so, the man named Lucius Arkeus Valhalla faced the Elder Wyrm, bringing with him only his twelve daughters, who had received the same genetic alterations he had. The thirteen battled the thousands, and Valhalla slew Jormungandr in single combat. The Dragons retreated, fleeing back into the vortex from whence they came or into the dark crevices beyond Humanity's sight to nest and lick their wounds. Valhalla united the rest of Humanity, who declared him their "God-King" due to his seemingly agelessness and his inability to die by natural causes. The Dragons continued to return, only to be driven back by the Daughters of Valhalla, who valiantly defended Humanity while their father rebuilt it. First, the God-King saw to stopping the land from being swallowed by the vortex, now called the Maw of Helheim. He had twelve massive towers constructed from out in the sea, and then had them anchor the land in place with massive chains. The towers were made to not only stop the lands from crumbling, but also to house the remnants of Humanity and give them a safe haven in their ruined world. Each Tower was given to one his Daughters, Twelve Towers for Twelve Daughters, and it was their duty to rule over Humanity from below, while their father watched on from his own Floating City, Asgard.

Seven Ragnaroks, seven times an Elder Wyrm has appeared to try and take the remainder of Humanity over the edge and into oblivion. Seven times, humanity has endured and beaten back their foe. Now, as resources grow thinner and thinner, the Daughters turn to Humanity to protect themselves. They armed the people with firearms, capable of piercing the scales of their Draconian enemy, gave them armor and equipment to give them the agility and protection needed to survive against their foe in combat, and gave them genetic augmentations to allow them the strength to wield these tools. And so, Hunters were born. Warriors of Humanity, who work together to bring down the mighty Dragons who threaten their existence. Though, not all Hunters walk this noble path. Some instead, use their gifts and weapons to hurt their fellow man, attacking supply trains to the Towers and sacking settlements surrounding them. These Hunters, called "Invaders", are considered as much a threat to the safety of the Towers as the Dragons. Led by Ivar the Boneless, their goal is unclear, but to achieve it, they have one method; To aim to kill the Daughters of Valhalla. In this time of chaos and desolation, one could very easily give in to disparity and woe.

This is the story of three who refuse to give in, and who face their destined fate like a great hammer, smashing through whatever stands in its path.

His Daughter's Tower
A Rocky, Star Phoenix, and Zazul Project

The alarms began blaring loudly as Brunhilde was woken from her nap. With a groan, she immediately sits up and looks around her room. It was massive, well-lit from above with a beautiful chandelier, and covered in white marble stone from the floors, to the walls, to the ceiling. All over the room, Dragon Crystals sparkled and gleamed like stars as Brunhilde rose from her massive, white canopy bed. She was incredibly beautiful, with soft but stern features and bight, almost glowing green eyes. Her hair was long, reaching down to her tailbone, and almost metallic in its golden color. As she walked over to the massive, white marble vault, the doors seemed to open automatically when she got close. Inside, there was a copious selection of military-style uniforms as well as a silver circlet with two silver, blade-like wings on the sides that seemed to line up with the face of the mannequin head that it rested on. Changing out of the white lace nightgown she was wearing, she quickly donned a white military officer's suit with black trim, the uniform styled almost like a suit. She then reaches up and takes the circlet, placing it on her head as she takes a deep breath. She needed to be calm, and not make it obvious she was annoyed at being awoken from her nap. After all, as a Daughter of Valhalla, she had an image to maintain.

As she went to exit her room, she stops at a bowl of hard candies that she kept, grabbing a lollipop and taking it with her as she leaves. Unwrapping the sweet, she pops it into her mouth and smirks. Blue Raspberry, her favorite. After a short walk through hallways teemed with mobilizing personnel, she finally arrives to her destination, the Tower's Control Room. Inside, several hologram-screens flashed with different angles from CROW drones and cameras on the tower, the computers being manned by Tech-Scribes, humans who are genetically augmented to be capable of linking with computer mainframes in order to assist with the daily functions of the Tower. Brunhilde makes her way to the large, black leather Commander's chair in the center of the room, sitting down as she begins looking at each of the screens, her mind processing the images faster than any machine would have been capable of thanks to her own genetic augmentations as a Daughter of Valhalla. Once she has finished, she sighs and speaks, her voice having a surprisingly deep but feminine tone.

"Report."

One of the Tech-Scribes turns around in their chair, a man with a bald head and goggle-style glasses. "Three confirmed Emergence Instances from the Maw, confirmed to be headed this way, milady. Two Knuckers and a Quetzalcoatl."

Brunhilde nods, pursing her lips. "Two 1-World and a 2-World class Dragons, eh?...Nothing too bad so far."

The Scribe then chimes in. "However, they seem capable of Poison Breath, milady. If they were to get into the lower levels of the Tower, they could leave whole floors uninhabitable."

Brunhilde clicks her tongue sharply. "I don't plan to let those overgrown newts anywhere near my Tower. This will be the perfect chance to test out an experiment I've been mulling over." She swipes her hand as she gives her orders. "Have four Hunter Troupes on standby! Have my Handmaids bring me these Hunter Trainees!" She then opens the keyboard on the arm of the chair and begins typing in the names of the Hunter Trainees. With that she then smirks at the screen as it flashes to show the two Dragons making a massive line of destruction through the ruined industrial landscape surrounding the Tower, the clouds of rubble indicating they were heading straight for the Tower. "Come get a taste of the hammer I plan to forge for your kind, you pathetic winged snakes with legs...~"

His Daughter's Tower Empty Re: His Daughter's Tower

"Late, late, late, not a good way to make an impression!" A petite girl scavenged through the piles of assorted messes strewn throughout her room. She was all too aware of the Handmaid that stood impatiently at the archway of the door, and she was even more aware of the potential issue that was at hand that required her. But if there was one thing Ragna Finndottir never left behind, it was her father's ring. Finn -- a father that Ragna never knew growing up -- was one of her only ties to her past, and she had no intention of letting it go.

She paused a moment to think, before snapping her fingers and pulling open a drawer by her bed and finally unearthing the small trinket. Fitting it onto her finger, she was hurriedly escorted by the Handmaid out of her room. Ragna herself was not dismayed by her diminutive stature, and was also notable for her dark red hair that she kept braided in a short mohawk style. For the most part, it wasn't a terribly unique hairstyle, but it suited Ragna well enough.

As the Handmaid led her down the various halls and corridors, Ragna could feel a surge of anxiety bubbling up within her. She, a Tech-Scribe, was going to be among the first of her class to actually operate in the field! It was unheard of, and typically reserved for Hunters exclusively due to Tech-Scribes lacking the offensive power needed to hold off Dragons.

But even that was changing now.

"Here." The Handmaid's words cut through Ragna's thoughts, and she blinked at the door before her. She glanced at the Handmaid who'd escorted her, but the other woman was already making her way down the hall to attend to some other issue that the Daughter needed handled. Nervous, Ragna approached the door...
