~The Kitten and the Wolf~

River stopped right away when the rabbit looked around, thinking a little bit before trying again and picking her paws up more as she walked.

The rabbit keeps its ears perked up as it waits to hear anymore sounds that would tell it to run away and back to its burrow. Hearing nothing, it slowly but cautiously goes back to foraging for food.

River noticed she was able to go after the rabbit like that, keeping her paws up as she padded over slowly before she pounced when she thought it was right to get the rabbit.

The rabbit strangely doesn't make a sound as it struggles against River's grasp, using its big hind legs to try and kick her in the stomach and get her away.

River twitched her tail a bit as she moved to bite its neck so it would stop struggling.

The rabbit tries to struggle out of River's grasp and makes it very difficult for her to get a good grip on its neck, its fur not helping with gripping it.

River struggled a bit as she tried to pin the rabbit down properly with her weight before trying to bite it's neck again.

The rabbit still struggles strongly against River's grasp but her weight is limiting its movement as it's neck finally snaps from River's bite, her newly shifted weight making it impossible for it to struggle enough to escape.

River swished her tail some and got up carefully, looking around as she did. She wondered a bit though if there was a way to store it for now.

River doesn't really see anywhere that she can store away her kill for the time being. She does however, spot a potential shelter spot underneath the gnarled roots of a huge tree nearby.

River picked up the rabbit and went to the spot under the tree, setting the rabbit down and tried to think about if the rabbit would be eaten if she left for a bit. She went back out from under the tree after a minute though and picked some leaves up, taking them back and putting them over the rabbit and repeated this a few times. After she was done she went back out to find some water some where.

River actually manages to find a small stream nearby with a small amount of water trickling out of a small opening in a rock wall nearby. It smells like there's something inside of the opening in the rock wall but it's far too small for her to get into to investigate further.

Brambletail watches River from a well concealed bush nearby. He makes sure to keep as upwind as possible to ensure that he has the smallest chance possible of being detected by her.

River swished her tail happily when she found the stream, happy she found a source of water. When smelling something from the opening though she tilted her head and walked over to it to try and smell more. She didn't want to drink water that was bad and get sick, she was sure if that happened Bramble wouldn't approve of her so she did her best to be safe.

Some of the water splashes onto River's muzzle from the opening in the rock wall and she can easily taste and smell it. It smells very fresh and tastes sweet like nothing she had ever tasted in the human nest before. The smell coming from the other side of rock wall's opening smell's....open and sweet. Whatever is back there might be worth looking at later.

River pulled back some when being splashed, since it surprised her but swished her tail happily at the way it tasted. She started to lick up the water since she liked it a lot, swishing her tail as she drank more and wondered what was back in the area where it came from though. She finished drinking after a bit, licking her lips and whiskers clean as she went to paw at the opening some curiously.

A tiny bit of the opening falls away as River paws at it but at one point she accidentally puts her full paw over the opening and it squirts her in the face. Again the water tastes very sweet and smells great but not so much when it's in your eye. River can't seem to get anymore of the opening in the rock wall to come away from pawing at it.

River mewed and backed up quickly when she got splashed again, her tail twitching as she shook herself a bit. She sat down after and started to clean her face, her tail still twitching as she tried to think of a way in. She ended up starting to walk around the area and see if there was a way in some where.

River finds a tiny opening on another spot in the rock wall. It looked just big enough for a medium sized animal to squeeze inside. Something about Brambletail's size could squeeze through that opening with minimal difficulty but nothing human sized would ever be able to squeeze inside of it. River could smell the fresh, sweet and open smell from before coming out of the opening.

River looked at the small gap in the wall some, sniffing a bit more when smelling the sweet from before and swished her tail. She went to go into the wall quickly since she was curious, looking around and twitching her ears as she did since she didn't want to get attacked by something.

River is greeted by an amazing and breathtaking sight. Inside of the opening is a huge cave full of crystals and small fireflies. There is a large opening in the top of the cavern that is shining light on the crystals in cave, making them sparkle. In the center of the cave is a large pool of crystal clear water that contains swimming fish that are much larger than the ones in the river that River had found earlier.

River looked around and swished her tail a little bit, happy she found a way inside and found such a nice place. She went to walk around after and look at the water, swishing her tail as she watched the fish. After a bit of watching though she went to look at the crystals, since she already had food so she didn't need to catch any more. Looking at the crystals some curiously, she pawed at a few since she had never seen them before.

The crystal's feel smooth and cool underneath River's paws, the brilliance of the shining crystals making them shine an opalescent pink color. This cave was truly breathtaking.

River looked around the cave happily, swishing her tail as she did since it looked so nice to her. She just wanted to stay in there, making her think some as she went to go back outside quickly and take her rabbit from before to the cave to stay the night there.

Brambletail watches River as she collects her freshkill from the place that she had buried it and disappear inside of a cave. He smiles as she watches her, knowing that she'd be nice and safe for the night. Setting out himself, he quickly finds his own rabbit and kills it before eating and settling down for the night inside of the gnarled roots of the tree that River was originally going to use for her own shelter.

River looked around when she was in the cave, thinking about sleeping since the floor didn't feel very nice. She went out after a bit and collected some leaves before going back and making a little nest. When she was done she ate and settled down, not liking being alone very much though.
