[One Piece] Shivering Bones, Shivering Sails

~The Great Age of Piracy is in shambles. Monkey D. Luffy, the man who would be the Pirate King, has died at the hands of Blackbeard. However, not long after, the very man who ended the dream of the Straw Hats met his end at the hands of the Marines, under the command of Fleet Admiral Akainu. With the deaths of two of the biggest names in Piracy, the Golden Age fell to chaos. The Worst Generation attempted to take up the reigns, but ultimately, even they were hunted down by the Marines and their war of Absolute Justice. Now, nearly twenty years later, and the Marines have all but tightened their grip on the world, with only the New World and certain places in the Grand Line being havens for Pirates remaining. Our story takes us not to one of these havens, but probably the most unlikely place one could imagine a story to begin in such a time. However, much like the generation before them, a new Generation was about to take flight. We turn our eyes to South Blue, one of the four Great Oceans of the world. Here, on a Marine Galley off the coast of the small island of Polita, we find the two catalysts that will re-ignite the Great Age of Piracy!~




"OOOOOI! APE! HURRY IT UP WITH THE GRUB!"

It was a phrase that Ringo Flint was all too familiar with. As he stood over the massive wok in the ship's kitchen, rice and vegetables with various spices and herbs, frying in a ginger and sesame oil sizzling in the massive pan, he gives it a shake and a hard shove, the food flipping and mixing inside. He then reaches over and grabs a wooden spoon, stirring the mixture with speed and skill seemingly inhuman to the untrained eye. As he does, his elbow accidentally knocks into a salt and pepper shaker next to him. However, he manages to catch it...with the thick, long, brown-furred tail that was sprouting from the base of his spine.

Ringo was a tall young man of 24, with thick brown hair that he kept cut in a flat, short Mohawk. The sides of his face were covered in thick, brown side burns and his hands and knuckles also seemed to be coated in a brown fur. He wore a simple, dark blue Wushu shirt with white cuffs, plain white pants, and black slippers that covered his entire foot. Swinging about from his back was a brown, thick, strong-looking monkey tail that seemed to move and wiggle like it had a mind of its own. With a sigh, he wraps his tail around his waist, making it look like a belt as he begins filling bowls with the fried rice. His eyes seeming to be closed at all times, he loads a tray with the dishes and walks out to the mess hall.

Ringo had been serving as a cook for the Marines since he was 10, and had been living as a Marine family member in South Blue all his life. However, he wasn't a wanted family member. His father had brought him back with him after his tour in the New World, where he had met Ringo's mother. It was a one-time fling, that resulted in young Ringo being born. His father, being a high-ranking official in the World Government, immediately had the boy sent to the Marine Academy in South Blue, where he failed to graduate as a Marine and was forced to serve as a lowly cook on a ship. Because of his half-Mink heritage, many Marines on board looked down on the boy, often referring to him as "That ape in the kitchen".

"THANKS, APE!" One Marine sneered before hucking a loogie and depositing it on Ringo's shoe, his friends cackling with him as Ringo smiled, unable to do anything for fear of repercussions. This was the norm. Ringo would be spat on two more times and kicked once in the rear before the end of his rounds around the mess hall. When it was over, he rubbed his sore rump, grumbling to himself as he made his way out to the deck for fresh air. He leans on the rails, looking up at the midday sun and taking in the salty sea winds. "I'm not an ape...I'm a monkey, you idiot..." The Half-Mink chef said to himself. As he looked over at the distant island, his thoughts drifting to the sea and what it would be like to have a ship of his own, he hears a loud bang from below him that makes him jump. When he looks down to see what it was, all he can see is a small dingy with a mast, small sail, and a black flag sporting a jolly rodger. He blinks, bewildered. What was such a small ship doing out here?

Suddenly, he hears bells going off as Marines rush over to the side of the ship and look down to the boat, shoving Ringo out of the way. "GET BACK TO THE KITCHEN, APE! THIS IS SERIOUS!" One of the Marines commands. With that, Ringo heads back below deck, not wanting to incur the ire of the Marines or their captain. As the Marines mill about the deck, aiming their rifles down at the ship, one Marine is given the order to begin speaking. "YOU DOWN THERE! COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP! YOU ARE UNDER ARREST UNDER THE CRIME OF PIRACY! PLEASE EXIT YOUR SHIP!"

One other Marine nudges that Marine, looking at him sarcastically. "Dude, come on. That is not a ship."

The first Marine looks confused. "Um....yeah it is."

"No, it isn't" his friend replies. "Its a dingy. Its a dingy with a makeshift cabin and mast. It looks like something only a complete idiot or amateur would use..."

The first Marine looks puzzled, but sighs, returning to his yelling. "PLEASE EXIT YOUR DINGY, OR WE WILL OPEN FIRE!"

Bones exited the makeshift cabin and yawns loudly, stretching her arms and looking up to the sun. She closed her eyes and sighed, the shouting of the marines catching her attention. The flame haired female lookes over in annoyance, before hopping up onto the ship, landing on the deck with a soft thud. 

"Is there a reason you need to be such a fucking loudmouth this early in the fuckong morning?" She hissed, her purple painted lips parting into a dark grin. 

It was far from morning, however. At this time, it was at least late afternoon. Bones wasn't entirely pleased with being so rudely awakened, so now she had some... business to take care of.

"Ugh... the stench of Marines makes me sick. Time to sink ya~" she lets out a laugh as she crosses her arms, surveying the Marines on board.

The Marines stumble back, the sudden intrusion of the young woman on their ship catching them off-guard. The Marine who had been speaking before aims his rifle at the flame-haired girl, clearly spooked by her bold behavior.

"D-Don't move! You are under arrest! Someone put some cuffs on her!"

Two of the Marines near him began moving towards Bones. All together, there were at least 30 marines on deck. Five were in close proximity to her, while the rest were scattered between the port and starboard side decks. At least 19 of the visible Marines had swords, while the rest had rifles trained on her.

Up on the top of the port side deck, near the Captain's cabin, a rather tall and thin Marine with blocky, square shoulders that point outward, a square chin like a brick, and even a long, square nose stood, watching the scene. He wore a simple, beige suit with a white shirt, black shoes, and a black tie, as well as a Marine Captain's cloak draped over his shoulders. On his head, he wore a Marine sports cap, his eyes hidden beneath the bill of the hat. Who was this girl, and why was she so familiar to him?...The Marine Captain was definitely wary. His men probably could not tell, but...he could see it. This girl, whoever she was...was strong.

"Ohoho, so that's how you wanna play it?" Her smirk widens into an almost insane smile. "Alrighty then! Let's get to it!" She brought her leg up and delivered a heavy kick to the closest Marine's chest before reaching for her right elbow. Bones ripped her forearm out from the flesh, the bone becoming a crooked looking blade.

After taking down the first couple marines, the pirate let loose a heavy laugh, her swings becoming more wild, more sporadic. She was enjoying this.

"Come on, give me a challenge, you filthy Marines! You want my head? You gotta try and take it!"

The Marines could barely comprehend what happened at first. The first two with the cuffs got taken down so quickly! The first one was sent flying over the edge of the ship and into the ocean below with that kick! The second one had tried to restrain the pirate after she drew her bone blade, only to be cut down by the seemingly-manic pirate! Six of the other Marines ran forward with the remaining three from the first group, forming up with their swords drawn as they get ready to charge the pirate all at once.

"Don't give in, men!" One of the Marines yells to boost morale. "She may have a Devil Fruit, but she is only one pirate! We have the numbers! We can win! CHAAAARGE!"

With that, the marines surrounding her charge, the first nine barreling at her all at once while the other ten behind them draw swords and rush forward as a second wave. The rifle Marines keep trained on her, ready to shoot at a moment's notice.

"Fools..." The Marine Captain muses. "Even if all thirty of you rushed her at once, it wouldn't make a difference. After all...I recognize that pirate." His eyes glint beneath his hat. "What is one of the spawn of the Worst Generation doing here?..."

Her grin quickly became an angry snarl as the Marines rushed her. Bones crouched down low, her arms out to her sides. 

"I'm going to kill each and every one of you, lapdogs..." She hissed, shards of bone ripping from her flesh and flying out in every direction. "BONE BURST!"

With that, she stood up and dashed at the riflemen, sword poised to strike home. She was about as bad as her father.

Perhaps even worse.

The Marine snipers were caught with pure fear. What was this woman!? She just shredded so many of their comrades, and now they were being cut down one by one!

Just then, Bones hears a rapid clacking sound coming out from all around her as several small, multi-colored building blocks suddenly start swirling around her, connecting and forming until they become the full form of the Marine Captain, his arm primed around Bones' neck as he appears to be stepping forward.

"C-C-CAPTAIN JENGA!" The Marines all cry in unison!

"BLOCK-BLOCK...BUILDER BOMBER!" He fully steps in and lays a heavy lariat with his arm into Bones' throat, throwing the woman hard into the far deck. "I'm gonna get quite the bit of prestige for bringing you in....Bones Kidd, Daughter of Eustace 'Captain' Kid!"

The surviving Marines all seem shocked.

"B-Bones Kidd?! As in...the fireball daughter of one of the Worst Generation's Three Strongest Captains?! She's already got a bounty of 500,000 Berries, and she doesn't even have a crew! They say she's a terror!"

Kidd tumbled across the deck, bouncing with each roll until she came to a stop. She slowly stood, wiping some blood from her mouth, smearing her purple lipstick in the process. Her eyes held a new look of anger; one that rivaled Eustass's back in the day.

"So the Captain finally comes out to play..." She growls, rubbing her throat and readying her bone blade once more. Bones looks at each remaining member of the crew before her. "Once I kill each of them, I'll make sure to take my time with you. Then, in going to take everything on this ship, hell, maybe even the ship itself!" She removes her large burgundy fur coat and tosses it off to the side. Her grin was wild and her firey eyes held no fear. 

She extended her free hand, palm facing Jenga as small shards of bone pulled themselves free and were sent rocketing towards the Captain.

"HAHAHHHHH BRING IT ON!!" She screamed out at the top of her lungs, not holding back.

Jenga snarls under the rim of his hat as his body suddenly begins breaking down into tiny blocks, the small pieces rolling like sand over the deck of the ship as the bones fly over him and into his crew. Captain Jenga, or Jenga the Block, was known for his heartless demeanor towards his subordinates. Letting them get mowed down by the attack was as easy to him as walking through a grassy knoll. the blocks form up underneath Bones and begin grouping around her, suddenly forming two feet and a two fists. The body parts suddenly shoot up and barrage Bones from bellow with rapid punches and kicks.

"BLOCK BLOCK BLOOM BARRAGE!"

Jenga allows his whole body to re-form in front of Bones as he brings up his leg and lays a front kick to her chest, knocking her head-first into the wall of the ship's cabin.

Inside the cabin, Ringo was sitting on the floor, peeling potatoes for that night's dinner. When he sees Bones' head crash through the wall right in front of him, all he can do is shriek as his eyes bug out from his head. "GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!?"

Blood trickled down her forehead, her face, and down to the floor as she stared down Ringo. Bones winced, her head pulsing from the impact and Ringo's shouting.

"Oi! The fuck are you screaming about, you oversized monkey?" She snarled, struggling to pull herself free from the wall. "Shit. Well aint this just a fucking party... Hey monkey. If you can quit your fucking screaming for 20 seconds, I wont kill you if you can get me out of here." She asked, disdain in her voice from having to ask for help. 

Oh man, she was gonna destroy this marine captain. No one shoved her head in a wall and lived. Frankly, it happened often in bars.

Ringo stopped screaming the minute she called him 'monkey'. He blinks. Finally! Somebody called him by the right classification! What a breath of fresh air! He stands up and cautiously inches closer to Bones. "Um....You're a pirate. And it looks like you're getting pretty badly whipped out there. Let me guess....Captain Jenga?" He looks over Bones' situation, clicking his tongue. "I mean, I could get you out...but what would be in it for me? If I help you, I become a criminal for aiding a pirate. Pretty sure they hang ya for that..."

Meanwhile, Jenga stalks towards Bones' struggling form coldly. "Those of you who survived, ready some Sea Stone cuffs and a cell. We're taking this one back to Marineford."


~Behind the far-off island~

Huge, black sails billow as a massive galleon the size of a small island cuts through the surf on the opposite side of the far island that the Marine Ship Bones was on sat by. On these sails was the symbol of a massive ogre skull with two cross-axes, the skull adorned with lipstick and a posh, feathered cap. The Jolly Roger of a certain Pirate....

"C-Captain Claudette!" Yelled one of the crew members. "We found Bones' ship! She's engaged with the Marines on that vessel!"

Large, thundering footsteps can be heard as a massive, dark figure with shining blue eyes and what appears to be a large set of horns looks out from the shadows of the sails. "Grrr....that damn girl is gonna be the death of me. I promised Kidd-kun before he died that I'd keep that rowdy punk-daughter of his safe..."

Bones rolled her eyes. "If you would rather stay here and be a slave for some government lapdogs, be my fucking guest." She growls, trying to pull herself from the hole again. No avail; she was stuck tight. "I'll tell you what, monkey. You get me out of this fucking wall, not only will I let you live, I'll get you out of here." 

Her wild grin returned, a new fire in her eyes.

"Deal?"

"C-Captain!!" Shouted the lookout from the crows nest. Their zoom-zoom fruit working wonders as they watched the fight on the Marines ship as if they were up close. "Shes stuck in a wall, and theyre advancing with seastone! If shes caught, that's it for her!"

~The Marine Ship~

Ringo's eyebrows raise as a slight smirk forms on his face. She could get him out?

".....AAAAAAYATA!" Suddenly, Ringo hits the wall around Bones' head with a barrage of punches that literally put precise holes in the wall, cutting her out completely.

"DEAL!"

"RINGOOOOOOOO!" Jenga yelled out upon seeing the wall get punched open by the Half-Mink. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU STINKING APE?!"

Ringo looks out from the hole and sticks his tongue out at the Marine Captain. "I'M A MONKEY, YOU UNCULTURED SWINE!"



~Pirate Ship~

Claudette lets out a loud, low grumble that sounds even more annoyed than before. "That little turd..."

"Hey, Captain..." The next voice that interjects is a tall human man with long, spikey brown hair down to his knees that seems to be kept pushed back out of his face, the tips flaying out and back like quills. He wore a black leather jacket with the Ogre Pirates jolly roger on it, as well as a pair of biker boots and jeans. The man's eyes are round and dull, like a fish's, lacking enthusiasm. "Let me go bail the kid out..."

Claudette glances down at the man, snorting. "Feeling squirrelly today, Pierce?"

The man, now identified as Pierce, walks over to the railings of the ship and stands on them, taking a crouching stance. "I just don't want to be here any longer than I have to...I have plans..."

Claudette laughs loudly. "Okay, go for it! Hey, before you go...how about a quick tumble, Piercey?~"

She finds only a dust cloud in Pierce's shape. One of the crew mates, a Gorilla Mink, laughs out loudly. "GAAAAHAHAHAHA! PIERCE IS RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE FROM THE CAPTAIN'S LUST! LOOK AT HIM DASH ACROSS THE WATER!"

Claudette lets out a low grumble. "He'll be back..."

Now free, Bones stood up straight and faced Jenga. She cracked her neck and her knuckles, sharp pieces of bone growing from the tips of her fingers. She was eager to get back into the fight! 

"Now... You're a dead man." Bones charged in at Jenga, claws at the ready and a deadly fire in her eyes. "MARROW SLICE!"

Jenga snarls angrily as he brings his fist back, his body becoming blocks and forming up around his fist as he goes to meet Bones head-on. "PIRATE SCUM! I'LL-" Suddenly, he's cut off by a loud, whistling sound as a massive, sharp object suddenly rips through the side of the ship's rails and obliterates Jenga's lower body, causing it to break away like so many building blocks being smashed by a fist. "W-WHAT?!"

The object in question sticks into the wall, right by Ringo's head as the Half-Mink looks out from the hole in the wall. His eyes shoot out from his skull when he sees that the thing that was stuck there was a massive, brown spike that looked like...hair?! Or at least, a giant quill of some sort?! "What in the world?!"

However, Jenga was now preoccupied, not with Bones, but with the man who fired that last attack. As his body slowly re-forms, he seems almost fearful of the figure on the side of his ship's deck now. "N-No way....WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

Crouching on the destroyed rail was the man called Pierce. In one hand, he had a long, javelin-like spike of hair, and in the other, an atlatl that seemed to be collapsible. He loads the second spike into the weapon, rising up to his feet fully as he takes aim and throws the spike directly at the ship's mast. It crashes into the mast, the force behind the throw letting the javelin rip through the wood with ease as the whole mast begins falling like a great timber tree.

"GAAAAAAAAH! ABANDON SHIP! WE'RE ALL DONE FOR!" screamed a Marine as the whole crew begins diving off the ship and into the ocean in order to escape the damaged vessel and the crazed pirates on it. As the Marines scramble, Jenga immediately moves his broken body to a life boat, boarding it and launching off during the chaos.

Meanwhile, Ringo is locked in a look of sheer, utter awe at the man before him. He had seen wanted posters of him, and knew the man's name before he even spoke. "Y-Y-Y-YOU'RE QUILLMAN PIERCE! WHAT'S ONE OF THE FORWARD COMMANDERS OF THE OGRE PIRATES GRAND FLEET DOING HERE!?" He looks to Bones, his eyes wide with fear. "DO YOU KNOW THIS GUY?! HOW ARE YOU COZY WITH SUCH AN INFAMOUS PIRATE?! WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! WHAAAAT DID I GET MYSELF INTOOOOO?!"

Pierce sighs, shaking his head as he looks over to Bones with bored, annoyed eyes. "You're such a hassle these days, Bones...You're what, 22? And you still act like a child in need of saving? Your old man would be turning in his grave...Captain Kid might have been a hard case, but he wasn't nearly as pig-headed as you."

Ringo looks to Bones with a look of awe. "Kid?! As in....EUSTASS 'CAPTAIN' KID?! THE FORMER WORST GENERATION FRONTRUNNER?! HE'S YOUR OLD MAN!? WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!"

Pierce rolls his eyes, inclining his head at Ringo. "Loud one, this ape..."

Ringo comically screams at Pierce, who clearly was paying him no mind even now. "NOT. AN. APE! MONKEY!!! I HAVE A TAIL FOR A REASON!!!"
