Spirit Academy

Lance changed into a clean sky blue, sleeveless t-shirt and some brown slacks when he got to his room. Raiken waited patiently on his bed as he showered and got cleaned up before he got into his new outfit. He put his spear on his back and his gauntlet in his side bag before offering an arm to Raiken to climb up to his shoulder. The little blue thunder dragon yawned before obediently climbing up to his shoulder and curling up around his neck.

With his change of clothing and personal hygiene taken care of, he headed to the cafeteria to meet back up with Shiro. He smirked at her as he saw her in some of Ikari's spare clothing.

"Those clothes suit you. You look good."

He commented.

Shiro glanced at Lance when she heard him and blushed slightly, smiling as she walked closer to him.

"Thank you, I got some clothes for when it gets warmer too. I thought pants and a shirt would work for now though."

She said and went to look at the food some.

"Would you like to eat and go train for a little while after?"

Lance nodded as he looked at the food that was being served as well, picking out some simple meats, veggies and drink for himself before going to sit down.

"Training would probably be a good thing to do. Where would you like to go and do that though? I don't care if course but it's probably best we pick a spot we're the least knowledgeable about. It helps when we're going off to fight in unfamiliar terrain."

He mentions, sitting down to eat as Raiken hopped off of his shoulder and to sit on the table.

Shiro picked a few simple things as well as she sat down to eat with him, letting Kuro stay on her shoulders though since he was dozing off.

"Where would you like to go train? Maybe we could find a nice place out in the forest, rocky terrain? I haven't fought any where like that."

She said as she thought and ate, tilting her head some.

Lance nodded as he ate, thinking about where there might be Rocky terrain for her to train with him on.

"Let's see....there's a waterfall in the forest I think. Lots of large boulders and slippery surfaces for you to get used to fighting on. Would that work?"

He asked her.

Shiro listened and ate a bit more, thinking about what he offered before nodding as she smiled.

"That sounds like it would be a nice place to train then, just have to be careful I suppose. I would rather not end up falling down a waterfall."

She said and smiled slightly at the thought of how much that would hurt.

Lance nodded and smirked at her.

"If you're scared there's a pool with similar terrain at the bottom of the waterfall."

He teased her.

Shiro looked at him before smiling as she stuck her tongue out at him, shaking her head some.

"I would be more worried about you if you got wet, surely that isn't a good mix if you are using your power to fight."

She said before standing up to put her dishes away, having finished quickly and wanted to go out and train now that they had an interesting place to try it out.

Lance shook his head as he too finished his food and let Raiken hop onto his shoulder as he followed Shiro to put his dishes away.

"I'm not worried about it. Of course that goes double for you if you get wet."

He reminded her gently as they left to go start training.

Shiro looked at him before she smiled, shrugging as she walked outside. She petted Kuro some as she walked with Lance to the forest, assuming that what where they where going at least.

"I won't hurt myself if I get wet at least."

She said and looked around, wondering how long it might be before they would be chosen to be sent out again.

Lance nodded as he walked with Shiro to the forest, Raiken curling up around his neck again to nap as he looked on ahead to the trees in front of them.

"Just so long as you don't mind getting wet then everything should be fine."

He spoke.

Shiro nodded and smiled at him as they walked, wondering how far they would be from the school since she didn't want to be caught at least. She was happy to be finding a place new to train though and having Lance to help.

"I don't mind, it will be a nice challenge at least. Something fun maybe."

Lance nodded as they reached the forest and he started to take the lead.

"The waterfall's in the heart of this place. Keep your sense sharp okay?"

He warned her, taking the full lead now.

Shiro looked at him when she heard him before nodding, staying close to him as she glanced around some. She knew they would run into a couple friendly spirits on the way but maybe be able to avoid dangerous ones if they kept an eye out.

"I will wait til training at least to change I think, to be further away from the school."

Lance moved his to Shiro's when he noticed her looking around anxiously, gently taking her hand in his as they walked.

"You're going to train in your spirit form?"

He asked her as they approached the center of the forest.

Shiro looked at him when he took her hand, smiling some as she hung onto his hand and kept walking.

"I can't actually use my power without being in my spirit form, so I guess this is why I haven't used it around others before."

She said and smiled slightly at the thought of how badly that would go.

Lance raised an eyebrow to Shiro as they walked along, the sounds of rushing water soon came within earshot.

"I don't think I've ever seen your powers before. I've only seen your spirit form."

He told her.

Shiro looked at him and looked lost, having thought she had showed him before smiling some.

"I guess then you will find out soon? I thought you did know."

she said as she looked ahead when hearing the sound of the water.

As the pair approached the center of the forest a couple of water spirits floated around and greeted them. Raiken nosed one of them and flew off to the waterfall after them, Lance smiling at him as he ventured off to enjoy himself. It was a little while longer before they reached the waterfall themselves but there was no denying it when they saw it. It was a huge outcropping with a large pool beneath it that had about three large rocks within the water to serve as places that they could stand while they trained. There also seemed to be a large hollow space behind the waterfall but it was hard to see through all of the raging water. Lance walked up to as some of the water spirits flitted around Kuro's head to get his attention.

Lance turned to Shiro and smiled.

"This is it."

He told her.

Shiro looked around at the waterfall and area as she smiled, finding this a fun new place to start training. She watched Kuro slightly as the water spirits tried to get his attention, making him jumped down to the ground to wander around after them. She was glad to watch him as she walked over to the rocks and tilted her head.

"This is a nice place to train, let's go ahead and start then?"

Lance nodded to Shiro's suggestion to start right away, putting his gauntlet on and taking his spear off of his back. Using the spear to vault off of, he catapulted himself up to one of the rocks and turned back to Shiro.

"Whenever you're ready Shiro."

He told her, a slight smile on his face.

Shiro smiled as she watched him slightly, looking around at the rocks before she went ahead to let her spirit form come out. She went ahead to let Kuro do as he please, going to use her own power instead as she went to find her way over to where Lance went. Pulling her glaive from her back as little blue flames showed up next to her feet and hands, jumping up pretty high before landing on one of the rocks carefully.

"I am good to go now."

She said and smiled at him again.

Lance watched Shiro closely as he saw the blue flames help her jump. Was her power something that enhanced her natural abilities? Glancing around he saw that there was a rock nearby and he gave a quick hop to it. As he did so he spun in midair and swung his spear into Shiro's side.

Shiro watched him with her ears twitching, staying on the rock she had landed on before. She went to knock his spear away as she turned to where he was going to land. As far as she wanted to avoid she didn't want to end up in the water or with one of them hurt badly so they had to recover again.

Lance hit Shiro's glaive with his spear and rebounded off of it. Reacting quickly to the sudden movement of his spear, he spins it over his head to help keep his momentum. The blunt end of his staff swung at Shiro's legs to try and knock her over. The rock she was standing on was also slippery thanks to the water around them so jumping over his spear could cause her to slip on the rock and fall into the water.
