WolfHog hybrids could be in order for that little dilemma; I never discriminate species when it comes to this kind of thing.  ^_^

It will be a digital flat colored sketch, since that's just easier to work on at the moment.  I hope that's fine with you!

So I ran with the stars, darkness, angelic, green and Tonfa themes with your specifications of wolf-hedgehog and keeping him skinny and aerodynamic looking, and then this came out!  ^_^  I did try to go with a medieval look as well (after all, the time of the ninja and samurai were equivalent to that of the western dark ages in concept and such). So here we are!  ShadowFantasy's Sonicized character!

How do you like him?

My personal favorite thing about this character's design is the outfit, since its spacey and dark and I love astronomy to death.  Didn't want to go too dark though, thanks to my pet peeve about characters being nothing but dark everywhere - black clothes, gray shoes or gloves, dark fur, dark eyes, that's waaaaay too much.  This was the most I'm willing to go since it does lighten up in a few places, but I really hope that's okay Mr. Fantasy!  ^^;

I remember you showing me all of these!! Can I just say that the Xanthos harem was the most perfect accident that has ever happened? And I still want to see that Magical Girl AU!! And Chris almost seems innocent of all of the evil deeds he performs on a daily basis! ...Almost.

To be honest I wasn't sure of what Catia looked like in the RP, given the bits and pieces of her physical information scattered about posts like the rest of us did, so try drawing her or PM me a reference made on one of those amazing Pokemon character dollmakers on Deviantart?  ^_^  That way I know for the future!  (and I know these characters can die, so some might think its useless to draw them and waste my time, but they also might not die, so its all 50/50)
The more we play, the more I'll know how to represent her and everyone else in the next picture I do (which is random and sporadic since I draw what would make a good scene, otherwise it would be boring), so let no one kill this RP!  ^^

The Catia you guy's have in the RP is the one on the left with the vest and such.  The one on the right is the wind version of Catia that tends to be a lot more peaceful and comes from a different one of my worlds.

I had colored references for them somewhere. I'll try to find them when my free time clears up a bit.

Hey, I tried some animations, guys.  They only suck because I'm not very good yet.  Anyone have suggestions on simple animation ideas?  Let me know.  I really am desperate for inspiration right now, especially when I plan to make entire series someday.

They're both REALLY FUCKING AWESOME. The walk cycle is a tad choppy, but thats something that comes with you never really doing it before. Keep at it, and you be awesome at this in no time! 

As for simple animation ideas, why not have characters do simple things? Things like waving, tilting their heads and smiling, or even hair blowing in a breeze! Then when you're comfortable with things like that, then you can move to animations like crossing arms and legs, body language, and things like that. As you do that, walking cycles will become easier.

Wrath is a good little model. Simple, yet complicated.

This just in: the walk cycle is probably the hardest beginner animation to pull off, ever.  Don't let tutorials on the internet tell you otherwise.  I'll keep at it though.  Maybe record myself trying to animate so I can show you how I do it?  Would anyone be interested?  Actually, I'd be open to any kind of tutorial if you guys want to see one.

Maybe I can crank out another 2 tonight, but let me know what you guys think.  Inbetweening isn't my strong point, so maybe it would do me some good to do a hand wave or a head tilt.
