Fading to Black
Before I actually go into the story, I want to lay down a few basic rules.
Here are the abilities that characters can have:
Ok. Now that the rules are done, Onward to the character sheets! There are Several Races that you can choose from. There are the basic Human and Elf, but there are also 3 more.
Please post Character Sheets in a Spoiler Tab.
The continent of Nazari once was a peaceful place. The five main races; Lighthalzen, Nighthalzen, Bhrigala, Humans, and Elves lived peacefully... well, almost. There was always a tension between the Lighthalzen and Nighthalzen. Fights and disputes would break out on both territories, and eventually the stress was pushed onto the other races.
Years went by and both sides were silent. It was looking like they had finally quieted down, until the fateful day where both sides emerged in an uproar. The Lighthalzen formed a temporary alliance with the Bhrigala, went in, and massacred ~80% of the Nighthalzen.
It has been about a year and a half since that incident. Nighthalzen are still being perused and killed. There are towns that will protect Nighthalzen who are on the run, as well as any party they travel with, but its hard to find them these days... Main towns will allow Nighthalzen within their walls, but prices are raised and service is poor specifically for the Nighthalzen.
*The town that this RP will kick off in is known as Manntara. Other towns will be introduced later on. If you have any questions or special requests for the storyline, message me and I'll do my best to make sure you get what you need.*
- RULES:

4) I will not tolerate god modding. If i do it, it is to move the story-line forward. And the only way that will happen is when I post **Cut-scenes**

Ok. Now that the rules are done, Onward to the character sheets! There are Several Races that you can choose from. There are the basic Human and Elf, but there are also 3 more.
- Races:
Races
Nighthalzen:
These are humanoid creatures on the brink of extinction with black wings that come in all sizes. (not all can fly due to some having smaller wings.) They usually have hair that ranges in the void colors (white~grey~black). Their eyes can be any color even multi. Nighthalzen tend to have short pointed ears and fangs. Usually born with a scar like mark on their face.
They have been seen as vile scourge that walk the planet and many have been executed on sight. Nighthalzen are hard to get along with at first, but once you bond with one, they become incredibly loyal and protective. They do not like showing emotion. Not uncommon to meet one that says it's family was murdered. A Nighthalzen usually *gets their wings around age 4.
Favored Classes: Assassin/Rogue
Brighala:
Allies of the Humans, Brighala will do anything for fame or wealth. Hair color ranges from Dark brown to blonde. Eyes are typically blue or green, but there are rare cases in which one is born with red eyes. Brighala have attractive faces, easy-going eyes, and smooth voices. They look human, but they can be told apart by black marks that are on their arms, usually in tribal patterns. (almost like a tattoo).
This race loves to travel around, mostly to become more know in other areas outside their home. Because of their thirst for wealth and fame, they will go as far as joining a traveling group and stealing everything in the dead of night. There are some, however, that aren't as untrustworthy, and can really help a party out. Despite their nature, they almost never lie. They are part of the reason that the Nigthalzen are almost extinct.
Favored Classes: Merchant/Mage
Lighthalzen: The counterpart to the Nighthalzen and Allies of the Elves, this race is where most of the Prodigy's of Magic are born. They have white wings and their hair ranges from blonde to blue and the occasional white. Eyes are almost always violet, but can be yellow. They have pointed ears, longer then their counterparts, but a lot shorter then a elf's. they don't have fangs, but their teeth are sharper then a human's.
They became allies with the Elves after they claimed that the Nighthalzen had attacked them ruthlessly, killing many. Many Lighthalzen that are met in one's journey like to lie to get farther ahead. They tend to sweet talk their way into alliances. The temporary alliance of the Lighthalzen and Bhrigala nearly wiped out the entire Nighthalzen race.

Re: Fading to Black
- Characters:
((Hahahaha, I figured out what you did! XD))
Name: Wrathias Kae
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Race: Brighala
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Brown with dyed tips of green; slightly curly style and thick
Height: 4' 8"
Weight: 115.7 lbs.
Ability: Elemental - Fire
Capability: Emotionalist
Class: Rogue
Weapon of Choice: Steel adorned gloves and boots for stronger physical combat and not burning the skin off during fire manipulation
Personality: Slick and flirty towards any gender or species (except elves), Wrathias feels he is mature enough to be treated with respect and glory, and wants to earn his spot in the world's most famous beings. He is cocky, but determined, and he is not above throwing tantrums and being called short tempered. This he does not deny due to his honest nature. He will never be brutally honest or hurtful in any way unless the situation calls for it.
Background: Born to a set of wealthy parents, Wrathias was raised to be very greedy when it comes to enjoying life's luxuries. But due to a heavy misunderstanding between races, his mother and father were killed for the crime of helping a Nighthalzen for extra cash. Wrathias did not believe this as a child, and secretly hoped to take revenge on the Elves for killing his loving parents, but did not because it could place a bounty on his own young head. 15, and wiser than most kids his age, Wrathias also dreams of succeeding his parent's wealth tenfold, and hopes to become a very famous man by his early 20s.

Name: Uwriyel Hura
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race:Brighala
Eye Color: Red
Hair Color: Brown with blonde highlights coming from the roots, outward; messy and lightweight
Height: 5' 3"
Weight: 99.8 lbs.
Ability: Physical - High Preformance
Capability: Gymnast
Class: Thief
Weapon of Choice: Lighthalzen's Ribbon - crafted from the finest fabrics and blended together with magic, this ribbon is indestructible and used for almost anything, but can be destroyed only by a Lighthalzen's strong magic.
Personality: Elegant and fast-talking, Uwriyel is a kleptomaniac, swift on his feet and has a one-track mind. When it's not filled with ideas on how to get his next pay, or practicing his skills and learning the environment, he always thinks about someday becoming a legend among other thieves. A daydreamer and a hustler, Uwriyel has little to no patience and doesn't really show much emotion outside of anger or excitement. He's a tough guy, but he has to be, and shows no mercy for anyone.
Background: Born in a nomadic community, accustomed to stealing from all the races, Uwriyel grew up with no regrets and no guilt, and he was always truthful in admitting that to his rivals. Second cousin and greatest rival to Wrathias, Uwriyel always envied him because of his charm and outgoingness. As a thief, he lived in the shadows, but always stalked and took note of Wrathias' next move, trying to be one step ahead of him. The two duel frequently, but only for the power, recognition and adoration that they both feel they deserve.
-----
Name: Ira Elias
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Race: Lighthalzen
Eye Color: Violet
Hair Color: Light blue
Wing Size: Medium sized wings
Height: 4' 6"
Weight: 107
Ability: High Thoughts
Capability: Art Accelerate
Class: Bard
Weapon of Choice: N/A
Personality: Sweet-hearted and kind, but timid and shy, Ira is the epitome of innocence. With mannerisms like a prince, and the voice of an angel, he is fragile and intelligent. Appearance-wise, he could be considered cute or babyish, but a closer look into his mind and he is a creative master of art and loves to learn and experiment with new things.
Background: As his race allied with the elves, Ira had nothing to fear, living in a safe haven for young boys and girls. He was always an extremely intelligent kid, but was a little less mentally stable than many others his age. He had issues making friends, could not really communicate well at all, but always had a passion for beauty and art, finding himself enjoying music and nature more than spending time with others. Even though he was shy and very awkward, a little clumsy and ditzy in addition to that, he was often called upon to tend to gardens and had a knack for plant sculpture. Ira rarely goes outside the boundaries of the special home, but when he does, he always has something to take care of. His dream is to make friends and not ever worry about the racial wars at hand.
~Deep in the night, in the town of Manntara, two young boys dashed across a farmer's field; both of them of the Brighala race, but neither happy to see one another. They looked as if they were battling for fun from a distance, but upon closer inspection, this was a nasty personal competition. Wrathias, the boy in front, scalded the fertile grounds with his elemental powers of flame, hoping to burn away his rival, Uwriyel. The long magenta ribbon he spun around quickly doused the fire, and withdrew it back into his hands like a whip. The two now were face to face, arguing with one another about something that was a rather hot topic in the world: the fate of the Nighthalzen. ~
Wrathias: Uwri, when are you going to retire that lame string of yours and just fight like a man?!
Uwriyel: When you stop depending so much on you powers to burn down as many safe houses for the Nighthalzen as you can.
Wrathias: I make sure no one's really in it… only after they've gone so I can get paid for the alleged destruction of another couple or family…
Uwriyel: You shouldn't keep lying to your bosses… You might slip up one of these days.
Wrathias: I don't like hurting anyone who didn't hurt me. I ain't got nothin' on those folks. You on the other hand, deserve more than a trip to the Underworld!
Uwriyel: I hope you have two tickets then…
~The clash between the two continued, moving from one field to the next. ~
((I hope this works!! ^_^; Sorry if it's not what you had in mind - I can change it if you want.))

Re: Fading to Black
- Character Sheet:
Name: Katarina Darktalon
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Race: Nighthalzen
Eye Color: Red
Hair Color: White
Wing Size: Large sized wings
Height: 5' 4"
Weight: 122 lbs
Ability: High Performance
Capability: Gymnast
Class: Assassin
Weapon of Choice: Two small scimitars that she keeps strapped to her lower back
Personality:
Cold and silent, Katarina awaits patiently in the shadows for her self-chosen targets to come within range. She takes several days to thoroughly plan out her next move, minimizing fail rates (She hates failing). Her lonely nature makes he a bit awkwardly charismatic. Because she grew up to be quite attractive appearance-wise, those who get the chance to see this illusive Nighthalzen, wish they could see her again. She strives to take out the ones who ordered the execution of her Race.
Background:
Katarina's earliest memories are the darkness of Manntara and the reassuring steel of a blade. She remembers no family, warmth, or kindness. Instead, the clink of stolen gold and the security of a wall at her back are all the kinship she has ever craved. Kept alive only by her quick wits and deft thievery, Katarina scraped out a living in the seedy underbelly of Nazari. Her mastery of the blade quickly marked her as a threat. Guilds sent assassins to her with a demand: join their ranks or be killed. Those assassins never made it back to their guilds.
She was raised by a Bhrigala couple up until she turned 7. She then left, only to be seen every so often before disappearing again.
Katarina tends to lurks in the shadows or stand atop Manntara's clock tower in the dead of night.
As the fields went up in flames, a silhouetted winged figure stood atop a clock tower, watching. Her emotionless red eyes looked on darkly, She watching the two figures run around. She's seen these two around and didn't really appreciate them still trying to eradicate her race.
Katerina: *she whispers to herself, long white hair billowing in the wind that helped the fires spread.* It's bad enough that your kind ruined us, but now you try to finish us off...
She spread her wings out, casting a slight shadow across the buildings. These two confused her. They seemed to work together, yet have a strange rivalry. Katarina stood there wings spread for a few seconds longer before jumping off and coasting down to finally confront the boys she had been watching for quite some time.
Re: Fading to Black
(OOC: Havent figured out how I want to enter this one yet, but here are my characters. Let me know what you think, or any changes/suggestions needed to be made.)
- Character Sheet:
- Name: Ganseki Hokori
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Eye Color: Dark Green
Hair Color: Medium length, straight, Sandy brown hair.
Height: 5’ 10”
Weight: 175
Ability: Elemental (Earth)
Capability: Gymnast
Class: Warrior
Weapon of Choice: Large two handed sword, heavily relies on attacks using Earth Manipulation. (Earth spikes/pillars/etc) Usually wears light-medium armor such as studded/spiked leather, or chain. Doesn’t normally wear gloves, as he feels they reduce his ability to manipulate Earth.
Personality: Though quiet and distant, Ganseki is a loyal friend and he protects those close to him with a passion, and sometimes a quick temper. He is socially awkward, especially where romance is concerned. He spends most of his spare time training and honing his focus with his elemental abilities, as well as sparring with any companions he may have. In battle, he can get carried away, and has been known lose himself to his darker, more sadistic side, especially in moments of high tension/adrenaline. Ganseki is accepting to any race for both friendship and romance (Although he is shy as far as romance is concerned), but is straight. He journeys seeking adventure, fortune, and helping those causes he feels worthy along the way.
Background: His parents raised him on a small farm. When he was around 6 years old, he met a young boy in the woods while he was out playing, and brought him home. The young boy said he did not know his own name, or even who his parents were. He had survived for about a year on his own in the woods, but before that he had no memory. They called the boy Shinja, and he became Ganseki’s adopted brother. Shinja was a Nighthalzen they soon learned. After a few months taking the boy in to their home his wings began to grow out of his back. Ganseki and his family weren’t bothered by this change, but the citizens of the village nearby were a different story. There were always strange looks at Ganseki, Shinja, and his family, and there were a few instances of vandalism of their farm after this. As he grew, Ganseki began to discover his ability with the Earth element, and soon after, he and Shinja began venturing out into the wilderness for days, weeks, and eventually they would stay gone for a month or two before returning home. One day, some angry villagers attacked their home, like many times before. Only this time, they were off on one of their little adventures. Upon returning home about a week after the incident, they found their farm, and home blackened by fire, and both parents slain. The group responsible had already been imprisoned by the more sane humans living there, but Ganseki made sure they received a speedy execution. Since then, they have wandered together in one endless adventure, going from one town to the next taking jobs, and helping those they can. In light of recent events, they have taken a liking to assisting any non-malicious Nighthalzen they come across.

- Character Sheet:
- Name: Shinja Hokori
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Nighthalzen
Eye Color: Off white
Hair Color: Medium length, silver, straight hair
Wing Size: Large Sized wings
Height: 6’ 1”
Weight: 145
Ability: Elemental (Wind)
Capability: Emotionalist
Class: Archer
Weapon of Choice: Carries a longbow formed from Ebony, as well as dual, black short curved blades. Uses his Wind abilities to assist his archery making him a deadly shot, also uses wind abilities to assist his flight, both in speed and agility. He wears little or no armor.
Personality: While Nighthalzen in race, he was raised by humans, making him act as such. Among friends he is friendly, kind, and talkative. However, amongst strangers, he has learned to keep to himself. Where his brother Ganseki is lacking in social abilities; Shinja is the opposite, handsome, with a quick wit and a silver tongue. He is open to the idea of romance, but has had little experience with it due to his race. He is much less shy than Ganseki in that manner however. Slow to anger, but a fierce protector of his friends. Being raised among a different race has made Shinja accepting of all races, despite being hated for his own race.
Background: When he was very young, he was forced to survive in the wilderness. He had no memory of his parents, and occasionally someone would assist him, giving him food or shelter for a while. Eventually he met a boy in the woods only slightly older than himself, and the boy’s parents were kind to Shinja. They became his family. When his wings began to grow in, he was afraid. He could not even remember meeting a Nighthalzen before, and now he was becoming one? As he matured, he learned to use his wings to fly, and he discovered his abilities with Air. He began to adventure alongside his brother. When his parents were killed, Shinja blamed himself. He had always been a cause for misfortune among his family, though they denied it to him. He attempted to run, separating himself from Ganseki, lest he also come to harm. However, Ganseki found him a few days later, and has stuck by him ever since.

Re: Fading to Black
The campfire sat in the center of a clearing surrounded by tall trees. It flared up slightly as a piece of wood exhausted its ability to hold itself upright, and broke in the middle, joining the pile of weaker logs, and sending a cascade of embers skyward which dissipated, blending into the night sky. Ganseki poked at the coals with a stick, exposing more of the glowing orange surface to the air, forcing the flames slightly higher, before putting another piece of wood on the fire. A few moments later a shadow passed over him, and a humanoid figure landed on the opposite side of the fire. It was male, and human in appearance, but it had enormous black scaley wings which folded flat against it's back. On closer investigation one might notice the pointed ears, and the silver hair that hung into his eyes, half obscuring his face. Ganseki didn't even stir, but looked up with a grin.
"So what did you get us for dinner?"
Shinja swung his hair out of his eyes, and held up two dead rabbits with a tan brown fur. He grinned exposing his sharp fangs.
"Caught us a couple of rabbits tonight."
"Well, not the biggest meal, but it will do. Toss me one, ill skin it while you take the other."
Shinja tossed the limp animal over the fire. It had been killed by a solid blow to the back of the neck. Ganseki pulled out his working knife from his pack, and began to clean the animal. Shinja did the same with the other one. Several minutes later, there were two skinned rabbits on sticks roasting near the fire.
Ganseki was about to speak when Shinja stood, apparently alarmed by something in the distance. A few moments later, Shinja unfurled his wings and whipped up into the sky, hovering about 30 feet up, just above the treetops. The fire recoiled with each wing-beat forcing the flames down and the coals brighter.
"What do you see?"
"Some fires are brewing near the next town. Should we go check it out?"
"Yeah, lets see what's going on, and make sure we aren't needed."
The young Nighthalzen opened his wings fully, and began to soar toward the town. Ganseki saw which way he was headed, and below began to sprint through the woods. Using his control over the earth, he forced the sand to rise up beneath his feet and eventually he began to surf on the top of the sand weaving in and out of the trees. A short while later, he burst free from the woods, and onto farmland. He could barely make out a black silhouette in the sky, more a lack of stars than an actual shape, that he knew to be his brother. He saw, in the distance, a pair of figures fighting in the fields.
'So that's where the fires are coming from.'
Ganseki continued to sand surf through the fields moving closer to the pair fighting in the field.
Shinja circled the pair high above, he withdrew his bow from it's place on his back and knocked an arrow. He was a shadow, circling high above, and out of sight. He noticed another shadow in the sky, perched atop a clock tower. He recognized it as one of his kin, and a female at that.
'A Nighthalzen... I wonder what she has to do with all this..'
He watched as the Nighthalzen swooped from her perch and went to confront the pair fighting below. He also saw Ganseki approaching from the edge of the woods.
'I will keep my presence hidden here and see if I am needed...'

Re: Fading to Black
~The boys' battle had rapidly changed in style from quick and meaningless, to violent and gripping. The field flashed, almost pulsating in red and yellow lights like a slow moving strobe light, simulating the fires of Wrathias going up and then promptly vanishing by the mighty magic of Uwriyel's ribbon. The hands of the young Rogue could no longer stand the heat of the element he so often used, and backed off using them and resorted to playing dirty.~
Uwriyel: How do you like that?! It hurts, doesn't it?! Now you can fight like a real Brighala!!
~Uwri's excited comments burned Wrathias' internally, and without thinking, he dashed forwards with a right hook ready to take off his rival's head. This action was deflected as Uwriyel held up the strong and thick maroon colored fabric in front of his face. The sheer fury of the Rogue pushed back the Thief a little, almost causing him to lose his balance and fall to the burnt ground. Instead of taking the fall and risking a fatal beating, he swiftly moved his arms and fabric around his arm, tying up the fist, ducked to the left and let the limb loose in one unraveling. Wrathias plummeted face-first into his own charred soils. Above him and dusting off his ribbon, Uwri sighed deeply. ~
Uwriyel: I don't want to end you. At least not yet. There's still much more I can learn from you. Like how to be better than you in every way imaginable.
~Wrathias picked himself up from the crispy grounds, but fell to his knees from over exhaustion, which he was known to have due to his body type and size. He wanted to get up again and really "teach" him a few new tricks, but when he did finally get up, he saw a flutter of wings heading towards them. When Uwriyel saw it, he backed up, untying his ribbon from his chest (like a sling of sorts) and ready to fight. To their surprise, it was a Nighthalzen! ~
Wrath: What the--?!
Uwriyel: It is a living one…
~The two fixed their eyes on her - as scary and random as her appearance was, it didn't stop them from realizing what she actually was and how much she was worth. The daydreams came in full swing inside Uwriyel's mind to know how much a living one of these would be on the Black Market; in contrast, Wrathias saw this as a chance to become famous beyond his normal fantasies as he could capture her and place on display for public eye as the rest of the world destroyed her kind, almost like an endangered species… Snapping out of their trances, Wrathias was the first to speak to her, as suave as he tried to be in his youthful and raspy voice. ~
Wrathias: They say only the Nighthalzen can only fly as majestically as that… And withhold so much beauty…
Uwriyel: How do you like that?! It hurts, doesn't it?! Now you can fight like a real Brighala!!

Katarina doesn't speak at first, but gazes at the two boys with her red eyes. She folds in her wings and turns her head ever so slightly, revealing a scar that ran through her right eye. One hand went behind her back and rested on the hilt of one of her scimitars, while the other remained at her side. She would fight if she had to, but she knew that she was outmatched. She finally spoke, but with disdain and hatred in her smooth, lady-like voice.
Katarina: Why do you insist on destroying what little my people have left? Haven't your kinds brought enough grief upon us?
She seemed a bit hurt as she pulled a scimitar out and held it in a stabbing position. Not giving them a chance to answer, she went into a fighting position; wings flared weapon drawn, and eyes glowing dangerously. It was almost as if she issued a challenge.
Now it was up to the boys to accept it.

Re: Fading to Black
Ganseki was getting closer to the group, when suddenly a Nighthalzen swooped in and began speaking with them. At first he thought it was Shinja, then realized it was a female. He slowed his sand surfing down to a jog and slowed that down to a walk, stopping a short distance away, in time to hear the nighthalzen challenge the two men. Ganseki looked skyward for his brother. It took him a moment to find him. He was a shadow on the night sky. When he saw a few stars wink out of existance, and back again, he spotted him circling the group above, his ebony bow drawn.
'Good. Got some support just in case things turn ugly...'

Re: Fading to Black
~The older of the boys saw the challenge and grinned, enticed by the offer to learn more tonight. As a man of fewer words (at least than Wrathias), Uwriyel grasped the edges of his ribbon tightly in his fists, and exhaled slowly. After regaining his composure, he smiled and flashed his red eyes in the light of the moon. ~
Uwriyel: Go on.
~Wrathias was still a bit beat up from before and because of this, was not easily persuaded to join the fight - instead, he was focused on answering her question, since it was kinda thought provoking. Although he still stood away from Katarina, he could still shout to her even during the fight. But before he could get anything out, he stumbled back a little and saw a silhouette of another male figure in the distance. His blue eyes darting from the Nighthalzen to the human-looking being, he thought that either they were in cahoots or that she was being hunted by him as well… ~
Wrathias: She has company!! Hey you!!
~Wrathias began to jog over to the guy, still a bit slowed down from his fight with Uwri. ~

Ganseki pulled his large two-handed blade off his back and pointed it at the Brighala.
"What the hell do you think you are doing? Burning up this farmland?! People rely on this land for their livelihood ya know!"
Above Shinja continued to circle, ever watchful. He noticed one of the men was approaching Ganseki, and he adjusted his circle to center on them. He would still be watching the interaction with the female Nighthalzen and the other man, but before that, he had to watch his brother's back.
'Come on... don't do anything rash, Gan... If we can solve this peacefully we should seek to do so...'

Re: Fading to Black
Katarina lunged forward with a speedy swipe of her scimitar, aiming for Uwriyel's chest. Her movements were light and practiced, and she wasn't aiming to kill. She just wanted them to leave. Anger filled her hears and tears in her eyes.
Katarina: YOU'VE PUT ME THROUGH ENOUGH! LEAVE!
She was an assassin. She was to show no remorse, nor emotion. But how could she, knowing everyday that those who tried to kill off her kind were still out there, still doing what they do.

Re: Fading to Black
~His one-on-one with Katarina felt like it would be relatively short to him, but after stepping back from her swiping moves, blocking once with his ribbon, Uwriyel normally uncaring mindset was focused a little on her tears. Not what she said, but the fact that she was crying so much made him confused. She wasn't hurt, he never personally did anything to her (at least to his knowledge), but she still screamed and teared up. Instead of being consoling and responsive to her, he quickly attempted to disarm her by wrapping his ribbon around her hand so tightly that she may not be able to hold on for much longer. But if she were to squirm, she would probably knock him back. For now, he tried to talk to her in his normal fast-speaking tone. ~
Uwriyel: I'm not sure I put you through anything. Why not go after those who did? And just who do you think you are to make me leave? Like I said, I didn't do anything to you.
~Meanwhile, Wrathias was still heading towards him, even after Ganseki's weapon was withdrawn and readied. He did slow his speed down when he got closer though, though, wondering why all of a sudden this guy was so hostile. ~
Wrathias: Watch it, man! Yeah, so what if other people use this?! Unless you're one of them, you shouldn't bother with it! I'm just trying to save my own neck! What's a guy to do, just stand there and take every hit?! You wouldn't if you were in my shoes!
~And it was then that he saw a shadow slip over the man's body from above. When he gently looked up, he saw a flicker of wings, and moved his hair aside to see more clearly. This wasn't the female Nighthalzen... she landed, after all. This was somebody new. Were they really all drawn here due to his little "family feud?" He didn't realize he had caused this much of a ruckus... He looked back at the human, now a bit concerned that where there was a couple of these guys, there might be an ambush somewhere out there in the shadows. ~
Wrathias: Wait, wait, forget everything I said! I'll back off, if you call off your little friend up there, alright?! I don't want this to be my last night!

Re: Fading to Black
Ganseki lowered his sword to the ground, but still facing forward, allowing his arm to rest from holding the massive blade outward.
'He spotted Shinja? He must be perceptive to pick him out of the night sky.'
Ganseki silently extended his hand skyward with an open palm.
Shinja recognized the gesture. Someone below must have seen him, because Ganseki was calling him down. He also noticed that Ganseki had lowered, but not sheathed his blade. He also noticed that the female of his kin was grappled close to the other figure below, but didn't appear to be in immediate peril. He kept his bow out, but removed the arrow from the string as a gesture of peace, before folding his wings against his back and diving downward.
The wind whistled past his pointed ears as he plummeted toward the earth in a nosedive. He was dropping near the female nighthalzen and her opponent. As he neared the ground he quickly pulled back, flipping his legs downward and unfurling his wings, cushioning his decent with a burst of air, and announcing his existence with a resounding *THWUP* as the air caught under the leathery surface of his wings. He flapped his wings a couple times idling in midair, taking the time to make eye contact with the man grappled to his kin. He could see now that he was closer, that the figure was a male Brighala.
He angled his body slightly, putting himself between the two groups facing off, and he landed, folding his scaley black wings flat against his back, and holding his bow at his side in his left hand, the arrow clutched between the fingers of his right hand.
Ganseki watched his brother make his entrance. The guy has always been a bit of a show off, but Ganseki could appreciate the kind of intimidation factor a nighthalzen might have by suddenly appearing out of nowhere like that. Once his brother landed, he turned his attention back to the Brighala nearest him.
"Sharp eyes, and a wise move. My brother is a deadly shot with that bow of his. I could never hit shit with it though."
Ganseki looked slightly more serious as he addressed the topic at hand.
"I don't care what kind of argument you two were having, it could be done elsewhere. Besides, throwing fire around like that in the middle of the night is sure to attract attention, and others might not be as... forgiving as we are."

Re: Fading to Black
The Nighthalzen halted her actions, wiping her eyes with her sleeve. She glared at the Brighala angrily.
Katarina: It was you! Your kind! Your people brought devastation upon my own... So here you are, setting fires to the fields, killing off what we need to live.
She went silent for several minutes before finally speaking once more.
Katarina: What do you personally have against us? Is there some way we can.... end this?

Re: Fading to Black
~He was still a little bewildered at why she was so upset about this one field. He didn't get it. Uwriyel released her from his ribbon's bind, and pulled back swiftly, answering her question after a moment's thought. ~
Uwriyel: My kind is a terrible representation of who I am and what I stand for. You can't assume badly about me for choosing one of many battle fields in the world… I suppose a schoolyard would be better?
~He paused, feeling that that remark was a bit too much, looking back at her watery eyes and saddened face. He sighed before speaking as he rolled up his Lighthalzen's fabric. ~
Uwriyel: Nevermind. You should relax. The situation could be much worse. You're quite the brave Nighthalzen, though. Before we talk about ending global issues, tell me who you are. I want to make sure I'm making the right choice…
~Wrathias exhaled and briefly looked down, thanking the above that Ganseki was right - they were some kind of forgiving towards his actions. Now that he could see them both more clearly, as clearly as the nighttime allowed, he scanned them both as he looked up and noted again, that they were armed and looked like a challenge if he were to try anything funny, especially since there were two of them, regardless if he wanted any help from his jerk of a cousin. Instead of glaring about them some more, he decided to take advantage of their kindness and ally himself with them, emotionally. If he were to succeed, he couldn't care less if his true colors were more exposed over time. So far they didn't buy the fact that he was just having a tiff with his relative, so he decided to come at them from a different angle. ~
Wrathias: Right, right. I understand where you're coming from. It won't happen again… But, ah, you know, if you want to, you could help me mix up the dirt so the charcoals don't show as badly in the morning… I really don't know how else to apologize, to be honest.
~He bit his lower lip and immediately got down into a crouching position, rolling up his sleeves before diving his hands into the cool and lumpy soil and proceeding to mix them about. He looked up at them, grinning as he asked a question. ~
Wrathias: Any of you two know how to garden?

The Nighthalzen looked on and sighed, kind of glad that conflict had ceased. She slowly held out one hand, while her other sheathed the weapon on her lower back.
Katarina: ...My name is Katarina. I was born here in Mantarra, so I hope you can see why this place means a lot to me.
Her face became emotionless once more as her sights rested on the burnt fields and she shrugged slightly.
Katarina: Gardening isn't my thing... Sorry.

~Uwriyel exhaled through his nostrils before meeting her hand with his. His cheeks cracked a smile. Now they were getting somewhere. ~
Uwriyel: Katarina of Mantarra, I have made the right choice. Call me Uwriyel.
~He released his grip once the introduction ended, then followed her gaze around to see if he could understand more of her pain. Nothing physical had hit him, but he hoped it would come in due time. ~
~Wrathias shrugged off Katarina's unwillingness to mix up the dirt. He continued for a little while, but then stopped when he looked up and realized it would be a LONG night if he kept up this pace. He sighed longingly, flopped onto his side as if he was bored, but then picked himself up onto his feet when Uwriyel looked at him as if he had grown three heads. He still had to be better than his cousin, and thus, tried to correct his posture to something more "manly" and "proper". ~
Wrathias: Well then, if we're not going to clean up, then I suggest we get out of here before dawn breaks, and talk about this problem over some breakfast, eh?
~He dropped his posture and tone to hunch over sheepishly and blush, knowing this wouldn't work. ~
Wrathias: I, uh, saw an inn on the way over here.

Re: Fading to Black
~Wrathias migrated his pupils to Uwriyel, who was wrapping up his special fabric around his body. The younger Brighala, while he did have some left over inheritance cash, didn't want to spend it on something simple like an early breakfast, but then again, if this Nighthalzen were to forgive him of any sort, he'd have to fork up some dough. Uwriyel, on the other hand, was a theif, and thus, didn't have much on him either. He fingered his pockets discreetly, and as suspected, he had only enough for himself. He then looked over and smiled at Wrathias. ~
Uwriyel: I think he'll have plenty to spare.
Wrathias: If you think I'm buying for you, get your head checked.
~Wiping off his sneer with his sleeve, he strolled over to Katarina's shadow and looked up at her. She did look sort of pretty in the soft light of the night. With Uwriyel following behind, keeping his ears out for sudden sounds, they left for the inn. If they could get their situation understood, then maybe they would have something to say about this whole war going on. ~

Shinja returned his bow and the arrow back to its place on his back, and looked to his brother. He was silent, but his look seemed to ask 'Shall we go with them?' Ganseki pondered it for a moment, and decided he would go with them. Shinja hadn't met very many of his kind, and Ganseki wasn't about to take an opportunity like that away from him. At the very least, Ganseki himself wanted to make sure she was safe from the two.
"I think we will tag along as well."
Ganseki sheathed his blade, returning it also to the place on his back like Shinja before him. He had to admit, having a meal at an inn sounded a lot better than the, probably now burnt, rabbits Shinja had caught earlier. Shinja waited for Ganseki to walk over to him, before they both walked over to follow the other three.

Katarina hopped off the roof to the ground below and looked up, waiting for the others to follow. She folded in her wings, but they'd be visible no matter what. Secretly, she was terrified about going into the city.

Re: Fading to Black
Once the cousins caught up with Katarina on foot, Wrathias grunted loudly as he whipped out a small bag of his own stash of loot. He gripped it tightly, but made sure to show them what he was willing to spend.
Wrathias: No more, no less.
The bag was heavy enough to contain enough money for all five of them to eat, despite if Shinja, Ganseki and Uwriyel had enough for themselves. He sighed and replaced the percentage back into hiding. Uwri on the other hand was a little uneasy about walking in with two of these rare creatures like they were buddy-buddy. He still didn't trust them fully, and wondered how they would pull this off. He remained silent, and because the brothers protected one another, he stood closer to the winged girl to back her up. Wrathias began heading for the inn, not caring if it was crowded or not.
Wrathias: Don't ruffle your feathers up so much. We're no army, but close enough. Just try not to let them get to you.
