Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
The Descended.
Those whose blood and destiny are irreversibly tied into the mythical Avatar Pokemon. They walk among us, unaware of their true nature of their lost past. For most, their bloodline is of little consequence. But for a select chosen few, they can become something great. Heroes. Legends.
Or so they'd believe.
Four months ago in the Topia region, an outbreak occurred that shook the world as we knew it to the core. A kind of… hybridization? Transformation? Nobody is sure yet. But it's become increasingly common for average people like you and I, to become draconic monsters.
Sauriathropy became the medical condition thrown around, with these monsters being called Saurians. They cannot be caught, like a normal Pokemon, and they're void of any kind of reason.
And it's for this crisis that the Descended Dragon Gang was formed…!
The change was anything but subtle.
Before she could find her footing, her skin had burst into scales, her nails had erupted into claws, and her eyes had adorned a new reptilian visage. Her bones groaned as they began to stretch and reform, and her thoughts became naught but pure rage as her cobalt frame tore through the PokeMart roof that she had stood in only moments before. Cold balefire erupted from her draconic maw as she let out a scream of anguish, of rage, of confusion.
The girl was only 4.
"Code Red, Code Red!!" It didn't take binoculars for Officer Jenny to see the massive red and blue dragon tear through the residential Normal Ward of Topia. Her Growlithe let out a desperate whimper as an unearthly Aura from the dragon permeated the stale air. Buildings collapsed in the dragon's wake, leaving only ruin and cold fire behind. A seasoned trainer could, perhaps, tell that the massive dragon was a patchwork Druddigon. An experienced one could tell that it was not unlike a Totem Pokemon. Screams of civilians began to chorus in the air, reaching a fever pitch! The police officer whipped out her radio, and spoke quickly into it, running through the ways she could help contain this mess before it became a massacre. "This is Officer Jenny, requesting back-up! We have another outbreak in the lower Normal Ward. I need immediate assistance from the Dragon Gang! Repeat, I need immediate assistance from the Drag-"
"We're already here!" Jenny snapped her head upwards as several dark figures leapt across the rooftops above her, heading directly towards the rampaging Saurian. The one who spoke broke away from the formation and adjusted the crimson goggles atop his forehead as he came to a slow atop one of the rooftops overlooking the Ward's square -- the apparent direction that the towering Saurian was lumbering towards.
His name was Verde Hogan.
He took a deep breath before shouting to the other members of his team. "Let's get to work, people!!"

He took a deep breath before shouting to the other members of his team. "Let's get to work, people!!"
- Verde Hogan:
Name: Verde Hogan
Age: 26
Avatar Bloodline: Flygon
Avatar Moveset: Dragon Dance, Earthquake, Outrage, Iron Tail
Though at times a bit goofy, Verde is known for his steadfast, "never-say-never" attitude, and unyielding optimism. While he may not be the strongest on the team, that doesn't stop him from putting in 150% of his effort, even if it ends up exhausting him.
Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
- Geiger Beck:
Name: Geiger Beck
Age: 25
Avatar Bloodline: Garchomp
Avatar Moveset: Crunch, Stone Edge, Earthquake, Draco Meteor
Foul-tempered and loud, Geiger is known for his violent speech patterns and menacing attitude. However, Geiger is incredibly loyal to his fellow Dragon Gang members, and is among the first to throw himself into harm's way in order to protect his friends and Topia. He isn't known for having the most level of heads, and has trouble dealing with situations involving women.
"GRRRRR....COME GET SOME, SPINY!"
One of the shapes lands down on the streets below, facing the charging Saurian head-on. The youth cracks his knuckles angrily, a snarl on his face as he removes his sunglasses and shoves them into his pocket. Holding his arm out, a large mass of stones forms a massive blade of sharp rock on his elbow, resembling a shark's fin. With a roar, he runs right at the massive Dragon Pokemon and leaps up, throwing his elbow down in a slicing motion and cutting it across the face, causing the titanic Pokemon to reel back in pain.
"YEAH! EAT THAT! MY STONE EDGE TASTE GOOD, YA BASTARD?!"
When he lands, he throws a middle finger up at the Saurian, sneering angrily at it.
"We were just about to go to the Fire Ward for that big food truck festival when you started rampaging! GET BENT! YOU RUINED OUR DAY, YA JERK!"

- Ace Distari:
Name: Ace Distari
Age: 23
Ability: Forme Change
Bloodline: Immediate Child of Giratina
Moveset:
-Hone Claws
-Dragon Claw
-Shadow Ball
-Phantom Force [Altered Forme]*
-Fly [Origin Forme]
Description:
Ace is the daughter of the Avatar of Giratina. After living a life of mild crime, she ultimately decided to pit her power against the forces of Saurianthropy; after almost getting killed when a Saurian Hydreigon laid waste to the ward she was staying in. She lives at the Dragon Gang HQ with her service Stufful, Fuzz.
*Using Phantom Force while in Origin Forme forcibly changes her forme, as well as drains her of any remaining energy. While still mobile, she cannot use any attacks.
Dropping from the darkness to the street below, the ghost girl turned her gaze up to the rampaging Saurian as Geiger delivered the first blow. Ace could feel the anxiety bubbling up, but she could deal with that later on. Right now, they had a job to do.
The red tipped tentacles on her back rippled to life, curling around her, forming a ball of shadowy energy before launching it at the Gang's target before melding back into the darkness to relocate.
"Easy, it's just a kid!"

- Timpani Castane:
Name: Timpani Castane
Age: 27
Avatar Bloodline: Kommo-o
Avatar Moveset: Clanging Scales, Flash Cannon, X-Scissor, Brick Break
Childish at heart, Timpani often acts before she thinks when jumping into a number of situations. With her sparkling smile and cheerful disposition, she is always ready for the call to help! She loves music, dancing, and playing around in her spare time. If the situation isn't serious, she tends to goof off. She's also got an awful allergy to Fairy Dust, and has trouble digesting sweet foods!
"If it's a kid, then we gotta think like a kid to calm them down!" a feminine voice dropped to the road beneath, her fluffy collar and bouncing pigtails distinguishing her from the group.
Cartwheeling into action, the young woman known as Timpani Castane rolled and flipped close enough to the Saurian monster to be close to her feet. Leaping back as the child-turned-creature stomped around in apparent pain and discomfort, Timpani determined that she was causing too much damage to the city to be full on attacked! They had to move her elsewhere - but would that create more damage than what it was worth?
"Hey! Not-so-little-one! Look at the shiny lizard lady!! Follow me!!" she called out to the Saurian child, illuminating her scales on her arm, leg, and head bands as if she were charging up a Flash Cannon attack. "Guys! Lead them away from the buildings! Keep that tail in check! Minimize damage!!"

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
Recoiling from the impact of Geiger's Stone Edge, the Saurian stumbled backwards, shaking the earth with every step it took. With a roar of pain, it collapsed into the nearest block of apartment buildings, wrenching massive chunks of stone free from their mortar bindings. Glass shattered as the massive dragon let out an ear-splitting roar, raining down on fleeing civilians below. It was as the Saurian tried to right itself that Ace's Shadow Ball made impact with enough force to knock it off-balance again.
"Huh... Weatherman didn't predict today to be cloudy with a chance of glass." Verde mused to himself as energy in equal hues of blue and red began to stretch across his form. A thrum of sound emanated from his throat as he felt his body augment itself. Strong enough to dodge falling debris as it poured down around him, fast enough to catch civilians and get them out of the epicenter of the danger. Dragon Dance was such a fun move to have.
Verde couldn't help but feel himself grin -- true, the situation was far from ideal, but to feel the wind whip past his face at blistering speeds? Nothing like it! Building up the Dragon Dance until he was practically a blur in the Ward's square, Verde blitzed past Timpani but only partially caught what the other Descended had said.
"Probably nothing too critica-" Distracted, he fell victim to a clothesline from the Saurian's tail as it swerved to the right to follow Timpani's lure. Unable to halt his momentum at such high speeds, Verde went flying into the Ward's fountain with a sickening crunch.
"...Imokay..." The green Descended weakly muttered as he cradled his head. That'd smart.
But the Saurian barely took notice, its attention focused almost entirely on Timpani's illuminated scales. With a roar of reinvigoration, the giant dragon began to lumber towards Timpani...

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
Wincing as Verde was absolutely walloped by the Saurian's tail, Timpani sprinted faster, hoping to outrun the mighty beast. When she knew she wasn't fast enough on her own, she whistled for one of her companions to help her out. She needed someone with wings to get her into the air!
The debris was getting a little crazy, too! Every few feet she'd have to leap and flip over busted up vehicles and fallen power lines! So much for minimizing damage... Either way, once they were outside of this metropolitan area and could settle this at the neighboring national park, things would be better!
Timpani gulped, "I hope!"

- Julius Khan IV:
Name: Julius Khan IV
Age Appearance: 34
Ability: Rock Head
Moveset:
- Head Smash
- Dragon Tail
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
Description:
Julius is the avatar of the ancient pokemon Tyrantrum. One of his favorite tricks is to use his Stealth Rock ability to create a throne that he can then float on. Being the avatar of the presumed King of pokemon ancient history, his attitude towards most other pokemon is usually poor, always thinking himself better than them. But for those that he respects, he gets down from his throne and will put up a worthy fight.
Julius sighs out of disappointment at the sight beneath him, floating on high on his throne made of Stealth Rocks. "Must you all always be so incompetent?" He leans over onto his fist, signifying his boredom with the situation. He watches Verde get thrown into a fountain from the Saurian's tail, his eyes fully tracking the Flygon avatar's movements. True, he was much faster and stronger now that he had used his Dragon Dance power, it would do him no good if all he did was fly around fast. He had to pay attention to where he was going. He could also hear Geiger's obscene tone and absurd language, the avatar narrowing his eyes in disgust. Does that moron ever think about what comes out of his mouth? Or does it just fly off of his tongue faster than his hope of flight?
He then looks down at Timpani, hearing her plan of distracting the child Saurian from causing so much damage. At least one of them is competent. I will do my part then. He raises his other hand and slowly swipes his palm across the air. More Stealth Rock's appear in front of all of the buildings, dozens of larger ones poised to strike at the Saurian if it got too close to the buildings and encourage it to move away from them so as to minimize damage to the surrounding area.
He then looks over at Ace. "Ace. Wear it down. The others appear to be distracting it far more than enough." He tells her in his usual, monotonous and slightly arrogant tone. He knew Ace and the others in the Dragon Gang didn't like him too much. But his power was unquestionable. This Saurian was just a child. The others in the Dragon Gang should be more than sufficient to take care of such a beast, right?

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
Geiger jumps up onto one of the rooftops along the path they were directing the rampaging Saurian on, growling when he sees the Stealth Rocks start appearing. They could only mean one thing...Julius was finally here.
"OI! KING! SO GOOD OF YOU TO FINALLY GRACE US WITH YOUR PRESENCE! THINK YOU'LL GET YOUR ASS OFF YOUR ROCKY HIGH-CHAIR THIS TIME, OR IS THAT ASKING TOO MUCH?!"
Geiger and the Tyrantrum Avatar were famous for not getting along, mostly because of the differences in their personalities. Hopefully, this wouldn't lead to them arguing....again.

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
Ace rolled her eyes as she took flight, not terribly fond of taking orders from anyone that wasn't Verde. In fact, she didn't like the avatar in general but unfortunately, he was part of the team. The bloody red tips of her tentacles lit up purple as she dove in at the Saurian raking them along its back. Not deep enough to cause any damage, but enough to cause a decent distraction.
"Are you actually going to pull your weight this time, Julius?" Her question came out as an echoed hiss due to being in distortion form. "Or are you going to sit on your rock as usual. And Verde, do try and be a bit more careful, yes?"
Ace floats down and extends a hand to the Flygon descended, asking to help him up.
"Come on, you can't be out so soon."

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
The combination of Stealth Rock barriers and Timpani's live lure tactic was enough to draw the titanic Saurian towards the Ward's national park. As an open space free from pedestrians, the gigantic creature began to truly let loose its anger. Ice-blue balefire burst forth from its draconic jaws, scorching a nearby cluster of Pecha Berry trees in paralytic DragonBreath. In sheer fright, a flock of Pidove made a hurried escape from the burning foliage, which quickly tipped over. The flames of the Saurian's DragonBreath began to spread...
"Imgood Ace, promish." Verde grumbled as he wearily took Ace's hand to help right himself. The Flygon Descended shook his head, as if clearing away the cobwebs of his mind. The shift in his mood was nearly immediate as he let out a content sigh. "Yeah...! Yeah, now I'm awake! Let's try that again, shall we?"
As he spoke, an aurora of blue and red light began to swirl around Verde once more, and he could feel his sluggish senses sharpen once more as his focus heightened. A cocky grin began to stretch across his face as he took in the current situation -- strangely, the chaos of fighting Saurians had always felt fun for him. He glances over at Ace, nodding in the direction of Timpani. If they were to succeed, they would need to tighten their coordination, right? He gives her a goofy grin. "If you can help out Timpani, I can meet up with Gigi and assist him."
He readies himself for take-off, his Dragon Dance boost still ready to be unleashed.

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
Timpani was grateful that Julius streamlined a path for the Saurian to go through, but she began to panic more and more as the child's momentum picked up! Without taking too many twists and turns, the monster almost caught up to her, had it not stopped and launched an attack on the park's trees!
"Yikes!" Timpani yelped, forced to skid to a halt as a couple combusting trunks having come down before her. She grimaced as the Pidove took off with haste. "Sorry, friends!"
Thinking quickly, if these trunks stopped her, then they might be enough to stop the Saurian! Without a moment to lose, she hurried around the affected area and used Brick Break to punt the massive trunks flying into a burning pile where she had stopped!
"Until I get some aid, better get started on the city's biggest bonfire!" she half joked to herself, sweating from spamming move after move. "I'm gonna end up with the world's biggest splinter!"

Watching the Saurian continue its rampage as Ace urged it further after Timpani with a Dragon Claw to the back, Geiger notices that it was starting to pick up speed. He needed to stop it from getting too much momentum, or it would be right on top of Timpani! Leaping off the rooftop he was on, he runs through the city streets hard.
As the Saurian drew closer to Timpani, its momentum hitting its peak, Geiger dashes along the ground, leaping up and doing a single front flip and landing on one knee, his foot slamming into the ground and causing a massive shockwave as his Earthquake attack shoots forward and hits the Saurian's leg. The ground beneath it now unsteady and shaking, he boosts off his kneeling stance, a blunted Stone edge forming as he roars and slashes at the Saurian's unsteady leg, not cutting deep enough to cause bleeding, but using enough force to definitely knock the large mutant Dragon-type off its balance.
"C'MON, KID! LAY DOWN AND QUIT THROWING A TANTRUM! YER BURNIN' UP ALL THE PECHA BERRIES! I HATE THE SMELL OF BURNED PECHA!"

Ace followed Geiger closely, monitoring his movements to best figure out what the next course of action should be. She watched him closely, as he created the hindering terrain and the slash into the Patchwork's leg. The massive beast stumbled about off balance. She nodded in approval the the Garchomp Descended's plan had worked, but that proud feeling quickly disappeared as she saw the fall path of the massive creature.
Timpani.
With the momentum the thing had, and the rate it was falling, she would be crushed; Kommo-o or not. Ace could feel the space around her body distort as she disappeared, leaving a brief after image of herself where she once was. She appeared amongst the fire and destruction, wrapping her arms tightly around Timpani and focusing again. The two found themselves several meters away from where they once were, Ace limp in Timpani's arms.
"...You... okay?" she weakly looked up with a grin, her form now completely different.

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
The haughty dragon type avatar looks on at everything, following them in the air on his throne as he watches them deal with the mutated dragon pokemon. They seemed to be struggling quite a lot and this only makes him sigh out of frustration. Can't these three do anything without me? I suppose I should intervene and show them how to do it right.
He stands up onto his throne as it floats over the top of the park. He then lets a bright white light come from underneath his cloak as a glowing white tail comes from it. He then steps off of his throne and plummets downwards, head first into the creature's chest. The result was a sickening crack as the Head Smash attack hits home. He then pushes off of the creature and looks on at it in almost disgust. "Destroying public property in a rampage without permission is very distasteful. Know your place." He then runs up to the dragon's head and whips his tail around, slamming it in the cheek with a powerful Dragon Tail attack!

Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
The successive attacks from the Gang finally knock over the gigantic hybrid, who lands on its side with an earth-rumbling THUD. Thankfully, Ace and Timpani hadn't been crushed under its massive body, with the former narrowly being able to save the latter! It was as the Gang began to reassemble that an exhausted Officer Jenny jogged over to the scene of the collapsed Saurian, having finally caught up to the action. The woman took a moment to catch her breath, before taking a look around. Compared to how it'd been when they first started, the collateral damage had been minimal, and they'd managed to keep the brawl fairly contained to a few city blocks. The Dragon Gang of just a little while ago would've been impressed with their coordination.
"Thank you all, truly." Jenny said as she finally caught her breath. As the Dragon Descended approached, she turned to look at the Saurian. "These incidents have been getting more frequent lately... and we don't have a discernible pattern for Saurianthropy victims -- it's not based in any clear genetic or environmental factors, but keeps afflicting people throughout Topia. There's still so much to investigate about this."
"How's progress on the cure going?" Verde raises an eyebrow, cutting to the question that was more obvious to ask. Jenny looked down as he asked, despondent. In truth, Topia's greatest minds had been working on a cure, but little headway had been made since the outbreak had begun. To turn these people back into humans was... unheard of. Jenny pursed her lips, turning back to face the fallen Saurian.
"When she wakes, we can try helping her regain her humanity with Convergence Therapy, but even so..." She meets the eyes of the Dragon Gang again, leaving the rest of her words unsaid. Convergence Therapy was a recent stopgap for the Saurian problem, wherein an afflicted person would over time be guided back to their conscience and cognizant selves and shrink down to an appropriate human size... the Saurian affliction would remain. As of now, nearly half a dozen Saurian victims had undergone Convergence, but now lived in science labs for weeks on end. Activists had protested their release, but the counterargument had been that they weren't humans anymore and didn't deserve human rights. Topia had begun to seemingly reach a tipping point in regards to the debate, with nearly everybody weighing in with some kind of opinion. And not all would qualify as civil. Jenny sighs. "Well, like I said before. Thank you, Dragon Gang. We'll handle things as much as we can from here on out."
Verde nods, turning to the others as he glances down at his watch. Sure, they'd have to return to their base of operations at some point, but that could wait. "So, anyone wanna go out for lunch? My treat!"

My treat!"
Re: Pokemon: What Lies Beyond? Enter, Dragon Gang!
Geiger smirks as the Saurian finally falls, rising up to his feet as he snickers smugly.
"All in a day's work!~"
It was then that it dawned on him....He just nearly crushed Timpani and Ace! Panicked, Geiger runs to where the others were meeting up with Officer Jenny, sighing in relief when he sees both are otherwise unharmed.
"Whew! Thank fuckin' Arceus! I was scared that kid crushed you two! Sorry, guys! I didn't expect it to fall that way!"
He then looks to Verde, giving him a toothy smirk. "Still, good job out there, Cuz! Your Dragon Dance is getting way better!" He offers the Flygon Descended a fist, glad that Verde was alright, too. "As for food, HELL YEAH! I GOT A HUNGER THAT COULD PUT A FUCKIN' SNORELAX TO SHAME! We still doing the food truck festival in the Fire Ward?!~"
