I need to start this off saying that this RP is Canon/AU to the Geneforce Universe, so unless you have characters within said universe, I ask that you do not participate. I am working on replying to other RPs, as well as starting up others for everyone to join in if they choose to do so.

Thank you!

A figure stands at an open window, looking out at the vast, starry night sky. Looking closely, all of the other planets were visible; making it time. He turned away from the window looking into the room at a table, where several mirrors lay. The objects glowed with powerful magic as several crows flew through the window, one landing in front of each mirror.

"Make sure these do not break." The figure spoke, as he stroked the feathers of one of the crows. "They are quite the pain to make."

He stepped aside, allowing the birds to pick up the mirrors with ease and fly through the open window, quickly disappearing into the night. Light from one of the many moons shone through the window as the silhouette of the last crow flew across his face. His red eyes reflected back the light along with great malice, his silver hair looked almost white, and his fanged mouth grinned as his dark laughter echoed throughout the icy landscape.

Castle Iciaura; Court Physician's Ward

Souline sighed as she worked about the cauldron, brewing up several dozen healing potions of different strengths. She rubbed her eyes with her tail, trying hard not to fall asleep. The gecko did have a quota to fill. As she brewed and filled bottles, she couldn't help but wonder about what had happened that caused her to go through so many potions... then she remembered; Garm and Mystess's lessons were very... hands on. They were always coming in cut up and bruised. Then again, their parents DID warn them that as teachers, they were no pushovers. The two kids were told that when they were first introduced to Souline.

She yawned and she corked the last of the potions and placed it on a shelf. The large clock on the wall read a time that she wasn't sure if it was AM or PM...

"Being the physician for this family is hard..." she muttered to herself as she finally dragged herself to her quarters. All she wanted now was to curl up in bed and just sleep.

TAP TAP TAP.

"I swear if that's another of Khyber's trinkets..." she muttered going to the window. To her surprise, it was a crow! She blinked several times, rubbed her eyes, and looked again. This time it was holding out a mirror. "What's this...?" She took the mirror, and the crow quickly flew off.

She looked at her reflection which slowly disappeared as the glow of the mirror glowed brighter. The gecko shielded her eyes as she felt the air around her thicken and thin, colors blurred and vibrated, and everything sounded distant, then very close....

-------

When she opened her eyes, she was in a small clinic with several others; the mirror no longer in her hands. One of them turned to her and spoke.

"Lucient, could you please go grab the herbal medicine from the supply cabinet?"

She stood there in a daze, before hearing the name called again. Souline tuned and shook her head, trying to get rid of this disoriented feeling as she retrieved a vial of herbal substance for the person. She flopped down into a chair and tried to focus. She had been called Lucient, which, according to her files in her Ward, was the name of her great grandmother...

"Lucient, are you feeling well? You look quite tired. Perhaps you should go home and rest a while." she was told.

"I... I would like that..." Without another word, she left the clinic, and ran. Maybe she would find something, or someone who could help her!

((Looks solid to me!  In order to not mess with what little timeline we put together, even if this is/will be an AU, I'll just age up the characters I choose as well.  ...This is when I realize I don't have that many child characters.  XD))

Ikari:

Kane:

Planet Tropic, State Kurre of Gadgetria, Underground Laboratory

It was the evening of greatness.  The final preparations were made upon the Transdimensional Teleporter*.  As the team of scientists backed away into their stations as the Chief of Science entered the laboratory, followed by a small group of a few others, she eyeballed the project before her and smiled.

"Dear guests," she began, turning around to the group of beings that followed her in.  "It appears that the day has come that we finally relive the golden days of Tropican science!  May I present to you, the Transdimensional Teleporter, Mark II!"

As she spun back around to the massive 10 foot tall, 8 foot wide mechanism, all but one of her guests "ooh'd" and "ahh'd" at the structure.  Ikari beckoned them forward with a hand gesture and snapped with her free hand; this brought forward two of the scientists that had previously scattered to their stations.  As they began to describe the machine to the guests, Ikari fell back to the only creature that had not been wowed by the presentation.

"It's hard to impress you, isn't it?" she asked him, quietly so that no one but the two of them could hear.  The Komodo Dragon she stood next to sighed and turned his head to look at the confident scientartist.

"It's hard to be impressed when I've already done this," Kane said, lowering his eyelids.  Ikari shrugged at the comment before folding her arms across her chest.

"Be that as it may, this is a new timeline where it hadn't been done before.  This time, I fixed it," the hedgehog retorted, then decided to jump subjects in order to keep the civility between the two.  "I'm so sad that the family isn't here to witness this."

Kane's fists balled tightly at the statement.  He didn't trust Ikari after knowing what she was capable of, even though her exile on Planet Conger Fee had "changed her" for the better.  "It's his 6th birthday today.  They're celebrating it with him."

"I bet you're quite upset you couldn't be there for him on his special day," the tan hedgehog jested, knowing Kane was fond of little Wrathias Kaos.

"Unfortunately, I couldn't risk being fired over just one of his birthdays.  I'll be there next year," the dragon huffed, frustrated with the conversation again.  Kane had worked for the Tropican International Museum Network for a little more than half a decade now, and had been the one selected to go to Gadgetria for this special historical event.  He would have to write an article or two about his visit and later interview Ikari about the project so that his chain of educational monuments could make this part of their new exhibit.  He had the strangest feeling, however, that he was chosen specifically with Ikari's influence, just so she could be a jerk to him.

"I trust you will be," she added, smiling slyly again.  Her ears then perked up, hearing louder and more excited sounds from the other guests she brought with her.  "Ah, it appears we're going to test it out.  You might want to pay attention to this for your little assignment."

Kane growled as he followed suit, the Chief pushing her way through the group to get to the front.  As expected, the show was starting.  The scientists began passing out protective goggles to the onlookers, making sure they all were safe from the blinding lights that were sure to follow.  With everyone now at a safe distance away and the protected googles upon their faces, the mechanics turned on the T.T.  Whirring sounds came from the generators and the lights of the lab flashed a few times before the machine illuminated light a carnival ride.  Intense pressure pulsed from the mechanism as a bright white light flickered into existence in the center of the pyramid-shaped structure.  Within seconds, the light expanded until it reached the edges of the machine, and all of the guests had fallen to the floor due to the incredible force pressed upon them.  Kane, being experienced with this, tried his best to maintain his posture; Ikari, on the other hand, was upset that this was an effect of the machine at all.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT?!" she screamed over the loud humming to her assistants.  Despite the answers thrown back at her saying that it was "supposed to do this," or "there's no way to avoid it," Ikari was dissatisfied and began to crawl forward to try to "fix it" herself.  Kane saw this and instantly pushed his way forward to try and stop her.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" she screamed at him, his massive hands trying to hold her to the floor.

"YOU CANNOT ALTER IT WHILE IT'S WORKING!  IF YOU DO THIS, YOU COULD CHANGE THE FABRIC OF REALITY AS WE KNOW IT!" he roared back at her, trying desperately to hold her down with a second clawed hand.  Furious that he was trying to get in her way, she held up a hand and began to generate a circular mass of green energy, static flying from its edges wildly.  She pressed that hand onto his wide arms and electrified him off of her body, giving her just enough time to crawl away from him.  Singed from the pain, he tried to grab at her again, this time, both of them nearly 3 feet away from the T.T.  The pressure was so great here that it was nearly impossible to get up, but finally, something new happened.

A duo of black outlines of birds appeared inside the white light.  In their talons, a mirror shaped object hung, and as it flapped towards the Komodo and the hedgehog, they dropped the mirrors; one fell into Kane's outstretched hand, the other into Ikari's.  Screams from both guests and scientists alike filled their eardrums as the reptile and mammal gazed into their respective mirrors.

Suddenly, everything went dark.

------

Planet Iciaura, Kyuu, Smithing District/Marketplace

Ikari could hear herself breathing, her heart beating and muffled, yet loud voices around her.  She couldn't see.  She couldn't feel.  Even in her darkness, everything seemed to be blurry.  Suddenly, a crashing wave of icy water hit her in the face, forcing her eyes open.  She quickly sat upright and exhaled furiously as she tried to grasp an image of who stood before her.

"Ya'lright, there?" a childlike voice spoke to her, as it dropped the bucket it was holding.  A young, long-tailed creature stood before her wearing a short frilly dress and open toed boots.  A little girl, it seemed.  Ikari scanned her over and over again, speechless, before she spoke again.  "Ya should come inside.  It ain't safe to get drunk out here."

"What?" Ikari spat, then looked down beside her.  Sure enough, a few bottles of intoxicating beverages had been drained, one of them even shattered.  She hadn't remembered drinking anything today, at least not until she left the lab for the afterparty.  The little girl then shrugged and skipped her way around the corner of the apparent alleyway Ikari was in, and inside a bar next door.  Ikari's eyes widened in fear as she scrambled to her feet, falling over twice into filthy garbage before finally regaining her balance.

She hurried out into the street to get a better look around her.  Sure enough she was in some sort of Smithing complex or marketplace.  Without listening to the words of the little girl, Ikari impulsively ran down the streets of this strange new place.

------

Planet Iciaura, Plethio, deep forest

Kane hadn't felt such emptiness in a long time.  Not just physically, but mentally as well; he didn't know why he didn't just let Ikari go, let her find out for herself how much she would ruin everything.  Maybe because he knew she would thusly ruin everything else, too.  It was always a double-edged sword for him, since the beginning.

The feeling of cold snow on his scaly body forced his nerves to shake and quiver.  His eyes slowly began to open, but he couldn't tell if he was partially blinded or that it was just really dark out.  As he carefully lifted his freezing body off the ground, using the dry trunk of an evergreen-like tree to stand, Kane scanned his surroundings. In his midst, he heard very fearsome sounds: growling, shrieking and other unfamiliar noises.  He quickly came to the conclusion that he was either no longer on Tropic, or in a secluded area deep in the Vegetarian forests.

A howling of a wolf in the distance told him it was the former.

Without a word, Kane let out a sigh and after seeing his own breath, began to trudge forward to look for help or Ikari... whichever one of those came first.

((*Since the first two Chemical Chaos stories, the Transdimensional Teleporter, an advanced warp gate-like artifact from the War Between Worlds, had been safely secured by the collected governments of Planet Tropic, rather than it being in Rocky's home.  After Ikari made a successful pitch to the government of Gadgetria to repair it fully, she's had access to a team of scientists to help her with the rebirth of the machine.))
((Hope that wasn't too long of an intro!))

(Reboot) Tales of Geneforce Old: Medieval Nights Empty Re: (Reboot) Tales of Geneforce Old: Medieval Nights

Sadon Autarex:
((I'm going to pick my second character later on, if that's alright.))

Planet Iciaura ~ Harbura

Nighttime always seemed to fall quickly, sneaking up when least expected. Lasting longer than wanted. Leaving when needed most. Looking up at the dazzling array of stars splashed across the night sky, Sadon knew he wasn't going to sleep for quite a long time. He tried to hold back a yawn, but knew resistance against his fatigue was futile as he stopped trying to fight it.

Here he was, back laying on the wagon of a trade caravan, with nothing but the sound of snow crunching underfoot the mounted animals and the stars in the sky that surrounded him. In the distance, he could see a crystal pillar standing proud as it looked across the rest of the landscape, a giant among ants. A faint smile tugged at the side of his mouth as he remembered the last time he'd seen the sight of a glowing crystal pillar before he found himself gripping his sword's hilt a bit tighter. There wasn't any discernable danger for miles around... so why did he feel so nervous?

The Icewolf sat up a bit on the back of the wagon he rested on, sword hilt firmly in hand as he looked around the sweeping expanse of white that blanketed everything as far as he could see. Nothing but a few nearby birds overhead caught his attention, and even that shouldn't be anything of significance. Maybe it was just a fluke?

The caravan kept at their pace as they trekked through the snow, perhaps not receiving the same strange feeling that Sadon had felt. He lowered his blade, placing it back into the belt scabbard it belonged in, and crossed his arms as he returned to his slumped resting position. He glanced up again at the night sky, lips pursed for a moment. Had the number of birds doubled...? The Iciauran female who mounted the caravan wagon behind him seemed to have noticed his actions.

"We're almost to Kyuu, just a little bit further," She tried to reassure him, although it did little to calm to help assuage the tension he felt. She gave a supportive smile, trying to lighten the mood, and Sadon half-heartedly smiled back to be polite, but the last time he'd felt this nervous... He'd found out some unsavory details about his father and his less-than-legal dealings. He just hoped his sister was still alright after that truth came into the light.

"It's not that, I just... Nevermind, do you know how many more hours it's going to be?" He tried to take his mind off of those darker memories of a time that truly wasn't that long ago. Don't dwell on the past -- live for the future, as his mom would always say. Words to live by, perhaps.

"Assuming we're taking the usual trade route, and with this time of year... it should be about another... 2 hours? Should be daybreak by then." She replied after taking a moment to estimate the time left. Sadon nodded, and was going to reply back when the unexpected burst to life.

"SKREEEEEEEE!!!!" Masses of feathers and talons rained down on the caravan, screeching avians from above tore through the fabrics protecting the caravan's trade goods, scattering the items across the snow in the panic. The mounted animals reeled back in fright, and Sadon himself let out a yelp as the wagon seat he'd made for himself lurched backwards with incredible force. Unprepared, his inertia sent him flying off of the cart and headfirst into a pile of snow.

"A-an attack!? Bandits?!" Sadon said deliriously as he tried to right himself from the fall, struggling to unsheathe his blade from its jeweled scabbard. There was naught he could see of the caravan besides the mass of black crows that had swarmed over it, and the screams of the caravan owners echoed through the soft valley of snow. This wasn't any bandit attack he'd seen before! And then, as if tracking Sadon himself, the mass of birds tore themselves loose from the caravan wagon and began to directly swarm around him, their beaks and talons scraping against his fur.

"S-stop!! Ack!! STOP!!!" Swinging his blade wildly at the birds did little to nothing, as every bird he thought he struck down only seemed to make more appear, surrounding the Icewolf in a veil of feathery darkness. He slowly fell to the snowy ground, eyes swelling with tears as the pain of being clawed away at, again and again haunted him.

A sudden glint of glass caught his eye in the maelstrom of birds, and as soon as he noticed it, it came closer. Unceremoniously, a hand mirror dropped onto his lap, its black frame encrusted with forces Sadon was sure he didn't understand. But even so, he couldn't help himself from feeling a magnetic pull... as if it was calling to him. The pain from the birds no longer seemed to bother the Icewolf as he finally gripped it in his free hand. In the instant that he had, the birds scattered. Within moments, they were gone.

"I... what is thi-" Sadon would never finish that statement. As his eyes gazed into the mirror, a sense of overwhelming nausea flooded him. Perhaps it was from the colors of his field of vision inverting repeatedly or it was the air that seemed to grow heavier around him. All he knew before his sight faded to black was that he fell to the ground, and he couldn't get back up.

-------

Planet Iciaura ~ Valence ~ Castle Iciaura

When he found he could open his eyes and finally breathe, he was in a courtyard, wearing clothing that seemed... vaguely familiar, but off. His family heirloom sword, Hopeflare, was no longer at his side, nor was the caravan anywhere in sight. In fact, this seemed like... the castle Iciaura? But he wasn't traveling anywhere near that...

Oh, and it was daytime now, too.

The Icewolf examined his surroundings, a bit miffed that he was so confused. Had the caravan carried him here after the attack? For what reason would they come here instead of continuing the trade route that would be faster? And what were these clothes??

"There you are, Rainerius!" A voice came from the doorway of the castle, to which Sadon slowly turned to look, seeing an Iciauran hedgehog staring at him with crossed arms, a quiver of arrows and bow on his back. "A few of us in the Archer's Squadron are gonna head out on patrol, if you wanna come with?"

Sadon looked down at his clothes, recognizing the symbols on it as representative of the Castle's own army. But the symbols... seemed somewhat different from what Sadon remembered. And that name... Rainerius... Where had he heard it before...?

"...Hey? Rainerius? ...Are you coming or not?" The hedgehog waved a hand in front of Sadon's face, and the Icewolf flinched slightly.

"...Y-yeah..." Sadon said slowly, still quite unsure of what was going on. A weight that rested itself on his shoulders hinted to Sadon that he had a bow and quiver of arrows on his back, too... And in that moment, he realized that the mirror he had held only moments before was gone.

"Let's get going then!!" The hedgehog said with a smile as he took Sadon's hand and pulled the Icewolf into the castle, presumably to join the "others."

(Reboot) Tales of Geneforce Old: Medieval Nights Empty Re: (Reboot) Tales of Geneforce Old: Medieval Nights

Post by Rocky 4/30/2015, 2:30 am

((  *coughs*I'mnotshitposting*coughs*  ))

Ancestral Information:

Ikari continued onward down the road, her vision getting blurry and her body freezing up like a popsicle.  Her movements became painful and stiff, not wanting to turn around to go back to that bar because it would hurt her physically and pride-wise.  She couldn't go for much longer, however, as she had bumped into a large and bulky figure and hit the ground hard.  The big thing she walked into then turned around, its wide arms curled outward, seemingly preparing for a fight.

"Hey!  You watch where you're-!" the burly guy began, ready to finish strong, but stopping his words to gasp.  "T-T-Tenji!  It's you!"

"Who?" Ikari huffed, half-glaring up at the creature she now identified as a ox.  She didn't even try to get up, knowing she would just come crashing down.

"I'm so sorry, sir!  It was my fault, really!  Please, let me help you up!" the oxman said as he pulled Ikari up by the arms.  She teetered around a bit to try to gain her balance, a hand placed on her forehead to try and keep her head up.

"Where am I?" she asked, her words slurred and teeth chattering.  Maybe he could help her out, even though it was really unlikely for her to listen to random strangers off the street.

((...and I'll just leave it off here in case Luna decides to specify exactly where this is other than what I've given...))

--**--

Kane continued on with his walk, but could finally see some light, shining like the daytime sun.  This got him to jog a little faster, hoping he wouldn't completely immobilize out here due to his cold-bloodedness.  At last, he reached the edge, letting the warmth of the sun absorb into his body like a breath of fresh air.  It was good to be in the heat again, but it was still fairly cold out.  He had to do something to help stay warm, and thus began to think of ways he could generate heat without using too much energy.

Since he just came out of a forest, he began to turn around and look for the easiest tree to destroy, or at least, the driest one of the bunch so he could snap it in half with his raw strength.  If he did this, he could at least start a small fire for himself.  Quickly, he began to browse through the trees at the edge of the forest, looking for something flimsy or no longer supporting much growth.

He found one in particular, but it was quite tall, even for him.  He wasn't sure if he could knock it down with just his strength, or even his sharp claws, but he approached it and tried anyway.

((...leaving it off again in case Luna wants to do something to these trees or whatever.  ^_^  ))
