Scientific Notations Empty Scientific Notations

Post by Maxwell 5/23/2012, 5:34 pm

(First of all, “Furries” don’t exist here. Secondly, this is a different type of RP where you play as a Pre-Created Character. You may choose your own name, as well as personality, but please try to make it fit the part.)

(And credit for the RP idea goes to None other then Blastion! Without him, this rp would have never been even thought of~)

CHARACTERS NEEDED

Positions Available:
4 Experiments (1 more rebel)
2 Corrupt Scientists (1 more)
1 Philosopher (NO MORE NEEDED)

(Its ok to have a few extra, but not too many please~ )

What you need to know
--Scientists--

*Corrupt Scientists: These Scientists are the very few that believe the beings that they create and/or experiment on have a soul and so they keep a low profile while also trying to bring down the power of the Philosophers.

*Philosophers: These Scientists are the Leaders that believe that their experiments are a part of something much greater, so they will strive to continue the Experimentation at any cost. They are aware of the Existence of the Corrupt Scientists, and will stop at nothing to put them into their “wright-full” place.

--Experiments-- Kidnapped/Volunteer’d Human Beings

*The Brainwashed: These Experiments (Mostly Volunteers) are the beings that are either Manipulated or Corrupted to the point that they will obey the Philosophers’ every whim and wish for them to create the “Paradise” that they promised. This this type is trusted by the Philosophers to an extent.

*The Rebellion: These Experiments (Mostly the Kidnapped) are the many beings that wish to escape the Hell-Hole known as “The Journey” {which is a Museum that displays “Advanced Technologies” that have succeeded in making the world the way it is today. (Modern Day)}

--The Journey--

The Museum is mostly visited as a ‘Building of Amusement’ as it hosts “Hologram Shows” which in reality IS reality. There are two identical rooms, the first is the ‘Show Room’ where people go to see the actual show. The second is the room that the show actually takes place. The shows consist of “Battles” . . . enough said. The first room is where the experiments are generally kidnapped, while the entire museum security guards listen in on customers for volunteers.

Character Sheet #1- Experiment

Real Name:
Experiment Number + Code Name
-Ability-
*Ability Description*
“Role”
{Alliance}
--Any other information about the character; appearance, personality, etc.--

Experiments:
Experiment # 192 - Code Name: Leech
-Shadow Copy-
*Able to Replicate Another Experiments’ Abilities Perfectly through Touch*
“Isn’t aware of ability, as it changes frequently. Philosophers are not happy with (him/her) as they cannot understand why (his/her) abilities alter so frequently, if at all.”
{Rebel}

Experiment # 222 - Code Name: Shock
-Electrical Current-
*A condition that replaces the blood in the user's body with a flow of static energy. Through this, the user can't die from blood loss; rather, instead of bleeding, the user "sparks" in the area of the wound. This condition also allows for Electricity Manipulation.*
“This characters’ very rare case of abilities summons a grand interest with the Philosophers. The Philosophers plan to use (him/her) in their plot.”
{Brainwashed}

Experiment # 379 - Code Name: Peace
-Day of Silence-
*This experiment has an ability that the Philosophers fear, as it would destroy their very plans for the world. The ability ‘Day of Silence’ causes an aura to form on the user. The aura allows nothing to harm the user, and the user is also enabled Aura Manipulation. Note: When Aura Manipulation is in use, the user may be harmed.*
{Brainwashed}

Experiment # 445 - Code Name: Sight
-Instinctive Reaction-
*This ability is passive and allows the user to see the COMPLETE extent of Body Language. Note: If the user can see your body language, (he/she) can detect your next motive.*
{Rebel}

Experiment # 517 - Code Name: Seize
-Precision-
*The user understands the ‘Window of Opportunity’*
“This experiment seems to be phenomenal with timing, and also seems to have extraordinary luck.”
{Rebel}

Experiment # 610 - Code Name: Taunt
-Regeneration-
*This ability is passive and causes the user to heal at a rapid rate*
“This experiment cannot die (supposedly) and regenerates any damage done to (him/her)self.
{Brainwashed}

Experiment # 754 - Code Name: Major
-Enhanced Humanity-
*This Ability is Passive. The user becomes exactly Double Human. (x2: Movement Speed, Agility, Muscle Strength, Thought Process, Endurance, and Heals twice as fast as a normal Human Being.)*
“This experiment seems to learn, progress, and grow at a rapid rate. Almost as if (he/she) is actually two people working together. Particular downsides include feeling pain much worse than that of an average Human Being.”
{Rebel}

Experiment # 800 - Code Name: Grave
-Empathy-
*This ability allows the user to feel others’ emotions. If a being reveals an intense amount of emotion (internal or external), this ability also allows the user to know (not hear/read) that being's thought process.*
“This experiment seems to have no ability at all, (he/she) continuously stares at the beings around (him/her)self in curiosity as if trying to read their thoughts. This experiment is known for (his/her) screams at night.”
{Rebel}

Experiment # 922 - Code Name: Clone
-Duplication-
*This experiment has the ability to duplicate (him/her)self only once.*
“This experiment’s loyalty to the philosophers is so great, they allow him/her to work as security in the Museum”

{Rebel}

Age: 13yrs 4 days

Personality: Despite her young age, Lori considers herself to be a master in the art of conning. With a bit of simple talking, she was able to leech anything from anyone; food, money, free hotel stays, etc. Ever since she was kidnapped from the Journey, it became more then just leeching a place to spend the night.

Appearance:
-Height: 4ft 6in
-Weight: 122lbs
-Blood type: A-
-Hair: Strawberry Blonde (long)
-Eyes: Sea green
-Clothes: red tank top, torn black jeans, black and white converse

It has been about a year since I was taken from the Journey. At first I thought it would be cool to do what I've seen; Perform. Turns out I was horribly wrong. Before I knew it, I found myself strapped down to the table, a needle being forced into my arm. Then waking up in a room. Alone. I knew they did something to me, but I just couldn't figure out what.

So I sat there on the floor of the room, staring at my hands. They seemed normal... except for this strange numbing sensation that kept creeping around my body. My gaze slowly lifted to the door in front of me. I could feel my breath coming faster and faster. With an Anguished cry, I threw myself at the door, fists pounding, wanting to get out. My nails clawed at the cold metal framing; I was sick of this place. There was a loud noise on the other side of the door. I jumped back as a scientist entered holding another needle.

"Nonononono!!!" I cried out.

I knew what was in the needle, but still I struggled. The sedative was injected and slowly but surely, I calmed down. Even though I've only been here a year, I wanted to be free... Thoughts of freedom quickly clouded my mind, making me lose focus, and soon fall asleep there on the floor.

Post by Star Phoenix 5/23/2012, 10:00 pm

Real Name: Lucian Osborne
Experiment #: 517
Codename: Seize
Ability: Precision
Ability Description: The user understands the ‘Window of Opportunity.’
Role: “This experiment seems to be phenomenal with timing, and also seems to have extraordinary luck.”
{Rebel}
Age: 19 years old
Personality: Haughty and rude, Lucian is bitter with resentment towards his captors. He often rushes into things, letting his actions speak for him. He longs to be alone, and only talks to a select few people. He isn't quick to trust, and is generally mistrustful of others. His personality might just cause some problems for the rebellion if they want any chance of escape...
Clothing: Blue and Black Striped Slacks, and a blue V-neck shirt. He wears black Vans and has black sunglasses with blue-tinted lenses.
Hair: Black curly hair
Eyes: Blue

How long had I been here? Who could say? The things I had seen here... were things better left unsaid. What I was aware of, was that I was being lead down a hall I had walked down many times before. I knew where it went, where the final destination was.

Showtime.

It was a trap. You go in thinking that you'll be the next big performer, the next big icon to the world. Heh, that's a joke. No, they drive those damned needles into your body, torturing you for their own sadistic pleasure to create a "paradise." And you can't fight back. You're strapped down against your will and so drugged up you can barely see your hand in front of your face.

You idiot. What were you thinking?

It's showtime.

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

Real Name: (Name not given. Referred to as Shock)
{Brainwashed}

Shock is well known amongst the Philosophers and few experiments as The Hunter. The Philosophers trust Shock to the point that they have appointed him Head of Security. He has recaptured countless experiments trying to escape alive, and dead.

"Everything used to be so confusing. After being kidnapped and exploited I was ready to give up, but then The Administrator stepped in and told me about my destiny. I am the leader of the army that will bring forth The Paradise. I will lead them into salvation and happiness. Why do they try to flee when everything they could have ever wanted will be given to them? It truly is a mystery... I won't let ANY of these worthless beings escape. It is my duty to protect the secret..."

Rizu Knull
“Philosopher”
Conducts experiments directed by The Administrator.
*Complete Access of the Laboratory by use of I.D. Card*
-Starting out loyal to the Philosopher, he/she becomes ‘Corrupt’ as he/she makes a realization.
(Corrupt Scientist)

Rizu is a Philosopher and one of the founders of The Journey. He was visited by a man, as were his colleagues, that offered a sample of DNA. With proper equipment the DNA would prove useful to the world. Rizu didn't expect on the head figure of The Journey to fall into the darkness. The research that Rizu used and the product he made are now being used in experimentation on actual human beings. At first the DNA was transplanted into the founders, but after some casualties, The Administrator decided to conduct these experiments on 'useless' beings. Rizu had not wanted to take part, but knew the risks of declining. After a tragic sequence of events, Rizu vowed to repent for his sins.

"How I could I have been so foolish?! My dear friends... My family... all gone. All for this... this Trial! I should have stopped it, all of it. I knew what the consequences were. I should never have agreed to work with the sample. Nothing good ever comes from Hell..."

BBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

The buzzers to the cell doors go off, the noise pounding in my head. How I wanted to just ignore that dreaded sound and sleep the day away. The only thing that would get me would be a shock to the side.

Rubbing my eyes and yawning, I await the daily morning horror. The cell door flies open, banging loudly against the wall. A couple of what I call White-Coats enter, taking me by the arm, practically dragging me away. I couldn't help but stare at the floor as the room I was heading for, greeted me coldly.

I slowly sat down, eyeing the two needles on the trey in front of me. A scientist picked up the first and plunged it into my arm. A numb feeling washed over the injected area as the second needle ws stuck there as well. I couldn't help but bite my tongue in pain.

I was still yawning when I reached the fitness room. Onto the treadmill I was put. Lets just say I'm not a fast runner... They had me running for a good couple hours. My lungs were on fire, but I still managed to hold onto a steady pace. I guess this pleased them. Now I couldn't help but look around at the other Experiments being tested in here....

"You look tired as usual One-Ninety-Two."
What a disgrace...
"Regardless, speed up. Maybe I'll have the guard put in some extra food on your tray tonight!"
I couldn't help but smirk.
"Actually, on second thought: speed up and I won't have to shock you!"
Electricity spurs from his hand as he raises it in a gesture.

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

Post by Maxwell 5/24/2012, 12:12 am

I growled at him, but sped up. It wasn't long before my entire body was aching. Each step felt like rocks were being smashed into my legs and it felt as if my heart was just going to explode. I could feel the burning sensation finally setting into my shoulders. I had no Idea if I could last another minute.

THUD.

I tripped over my own steps and down I went, face first into the treadmill. The moving belt was happy to deposit me onto the cold floor. I rolled onto my back and looked up, breathing deeply.

"Ow....."

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

Post by Guest 5/24/2012, 12:28 am

I couldn't help but shake my head.
"You truly ARE a pathetic creature you know that?!"

He exclaimed as he stepped toward her. He signaled, and the guard approached her with his shock stick active. He gave another signal and the guard lunged.

"Stop!" Rizu grabbed the guard's arm from behind, stopping his lunge.

"Don't interfere, Rizu. She's been here over a year and still hasn't learned her place! By now she should be a fit soldier!"

"I'm aware of the situation Two-Twenty-Two, however; I do not think that The Administrator will appreciate you damaging his merchandise."

I paused for a moment. He was right. Today is her Trial day. If she would be damaged, I'd be blamed...
"Ugh."
He turned and left the room.

He sighed in relief and turned to the girl. "Get up and continue. You must be well prepared for later." He exited the room as well.

Well THAT just happened... As much as I didn't want to continue, I had to respect what a scientist said. Once more, I was running on that damned treadmill.

My body didn't hurt as much as before the fall. Maybe it was because of all of the questions entering my mind. Was I seriously just labeled as "Merchandise"?!

"I am not merchandise..." I muttered to myself. "I'm a human being! I think...."

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

Post by Star Phoenix 5/24/2012, 10:27 am

'I can't do this for much longer...' I thought to myself as I examined the latest contraption specifically designed to test my "gift." If I could feel my emotions, if I was still emotionally attached to the world... I would have laughed at the thought. A gift? Complete and total bull.

I stood before a trio of giant propeller fans, each blade following the other in a cycle of certain death for most people. Except me. It happened for a millisecond every five minutes or so. There would be a small gap of space between the fans, barely enough space for a man to squeeze through without getting sliced in half, and barely enough time for most people to run though.

I was the lucky one.

Yeah, that much I understood. I had incredible luck, making the impossible seem a lot more plausible without batting an eyelash. I glanceed upwards, catching sight of the red lens of the camera near the ceiling. They were watching me. Waiting for my move. Always waiting. Always watching.

I couldn't put it off any longer. I tensed my muscles, eyes trained on the giant fan blades that could kill me if my timing was off.

'Ready or not... here I go.'

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

Post by Guest 5/24/2012, 12:01 pm

Curse that Rizu... Humiliating me in front of those damned creatures! I couldn't let this thought out of my head until I entered the examining room. I looked up at the crowd of four philosophers staring into one of the many screens on the wall. I made my way to them to check out what all the fuss was about. I heard few words from their mumbling such as 'remarkable ability' and 'one step closer to paradise.' I viewed the screen. Obviously, I wasn't impressed by watching a creature stand there for ten minutes doing nothing, however; as this is a patient business I continued to watch. After a few more minutes, the creature looked as if it was actually going to go through the fans. This I had to see.

That poor thing... She won't last through The Trial in that condition. I shook my head at these thoughts. Her ability is so complicated. Some months she can manipulate electricity. Other months, if at all, she displays a number of other abilities. Her condition has no fixed interval. No pattern. I have no idea what ability she could possess even now. Last week was chaotic. She would conduct earthquakes when in immense pain...

Regardless, her abilities are obviously unstable. But how can we stabilize her abilities when we don't know what she'll have next? Hmm...

Go!!

I felt my senses sharpen, my vision now crystal clear. I could see the route the fans would take, the speed I'd need to make it past the fanblades, and so much more. Everything was calculated perfectly. I closed my eyes and jumped.

I spun in circular movements, moving not through the blades, but around them. Precise footwork and careful timing were key. I felt wind whip past as a blade wove past my face. But I had blocked out that noise.

My luck wouldn't fail me.

It felt like eternity. It felt like a split second... and yet, both thoughts seemed to ring true. As I opedn my eyes, the sounds flooded back. The water dripping from the pipes. The distant skittering of mice. Everything. I had made it to the other side. I glanced upwards to the camera once more, my eyes filled with bloody murder and vengeance. One day... they'd get what was coming to 'em.

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

Post by Guest 5/24/2012, 12:50 pm

"Ha!" I exclaimed suddenly as the experiment reached the other side. "What an odd ability." Up until now, I've only witnessed abilities with Offensive Capabilities. This was a new one to me. What is this? True Luck or something? The Philosopher next to me then explained that this is Experiment 517: Seize. His ability is Precision. Apparently the ability allows him to understand and exploit the 'Window of Opportunity' which allows him to have perfect timing and what seems to be immense luck. I thought to myself. Why is this ability worth more to them than something that can burn down an entire city? So I asked them. "What is so special about this specimen? It doesn't look like he'd be able to take down a nation single handed or anything of the sort."

I snapped back into reality as the Philosophers cheered. I peered up to see the four conversing over the matter. I then realized Shock was in the room, also interested. I walked over as he finished asking his question. "His ability isn't as hallow as you make it sound, Two-Twenty-Two. With an ability like Precision, you can bet that nearly nothing will be able to hurt him."

"What do you mean?" I approached him, regardless of who he was. I need to know why he's so important. I refuse to be replaced!

"The ability is much more than pure luck. Have you seen Experiment 445 fight?"

"Yes, I have."

"Four-Forty-Five has Instinctive Reaction. The ability allows the user to see the full extent of body language. In essence, the user can know what their foe will do before they even try to conduct their action. Five-Seventeen (Seize) can out maneuver Four-Forty-Five for one reason. Seize knows where to be and when. Not just his body, but all of himself as well. Five-Seventeen can read body language, but that doesn't mean that Sight (E#517) will be able to make the actions needed to defeat the foe."

"You lost me." I was getting impatient. "Enough gibberish!"

"Look at it this way. Who will win in a fight. Someone that knows the next action but can't counter it, or someone that knows the entire fight?"

"You're telling me that Four-Forty-Five can know the future?"

"No, I'm telling you that he's lucky." I couldn't help but smirk when he snarled and stormed out of the room. "What a tortured soul."

Another hour and a half on the treadmill left. I wanted to give up right then and there, but something kept me from doing so. Was it the risk of gettong shocked? Maybe even death? I was pushing myself further then I should have. All for what?

Paradise.

I hear bits and pieces of the philosophers trying to create something along the lines of a Paradise. So I kept going.

I couldn't help but sigh out loud. No one was around, so... what was a little break? I jumped off the moving belt to the side of the treadmill. My legs immediately felt like jello; wobbly and soft. I still looked around every couple seconds in case someone were to walk by, I could just jump back onto the machine.

Post by Star Phoenix 5/24/2012, 11:13 pm

I was silent as I awaited the response from the philosophers. My hands were clammy as the door at the far end of the hall slowly opened. About fourteen minutes had passed since my gamble with death. I sat on a fold-up chair, my rear beginning to hurt. As the door opened, I slowly stood, awaiting their response to my skill's progress.

I refuse to believe this. An ability so passive will be key to The Philosopher's Plot? NO! "I'm putting an end to this NOW!" I muttered to myself as I approached the door. Without hesitation, I barged through the door to find Five-Seventeen on a chair. "Let's see how you REALLY are in combat!" I charged my hand and threw a ball of electricity at him.

"What is he doing?" As Shock stormed out, I glanced at the screens to find him heading toward The Chamber. "Call the guards! Tell them to sedate Two-Twenty-Two!"

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

I had to react fast. This experiment was strong, no doubts about that. I spun to the ground, the ball of electricity barely missing my head. I swiftly grabbed the chair and chucked it at the enraged experiment.

"What's your problem?!"

I swung my charged arm, smashing the chair into pieces. I followed up with another ball of lightning, skidding it across the floor.

I heard the guards running down the hallway as I, too, began running to The Chamber. "What's gotten into you, Shock..." I muttered in my breath. Then, I heard a crash. I thought the worst.

I leaned against against the treadmill, trying to rub feeling back into my legs. My god did they still hurt! I heard a loud crash and immediately jumped up. What the hell was going on?! I crept over to the window, trying to see what was happening.

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

I flipped forward, diving over the ball of lightning. My eyes were wild as I tried to escape. How exactly would I win this? I'd need to rely on my luck.

That was the only way I would win.

Scientific Notations Empty Re: Scientific Notations

I refuse to allow this experiment to live. He's proven to me, now, that he is too valuable to The Philosophers. My arms shot up with static so immense that the sparks shot off me like fireworks. Just then, I realized something. He won't be the last to threaten my position. I must find them all, and destroy them. Starting with him. "I can't let you live. Now, D- !!"

When I entered the room, I saw that the guards had gotten to the situation just in time to save the experiment. "Thank you, gentleman. Take him to the Examination Room, please." As they carried him out, I saw the conduction dart on Shock's neck. I knew he'd be dangerous, so I made sure we could sedate him if need be. I then approached Seize. "I am sorry for the inconvenience, Five-Seventeen. I haven't a clue as to what was going through Two-Twenty-Two's head."

"..." I certainly didn't expect that. It had seemed that my luck had saved me again. I looked over my shoulder as I heard footsteps approach me.

"I am sorry for the inconvenience, Five-seventeen. I haven't a clue as to what was going through Two-Twenty-Two's head." The person said, the apologetic words mostly ignored. Honestly, I could care less. I was essentially unkillable, a result of my extraordinary luck. But even so... I wanted to hear my attacker's motive. I adjusted my shades and snorted before walking down the hallway back to my cell. The one place I'd actually feel safe.

The timer for my running finally went off. With a sigh, I stand and grab the treadmill for support as I wearily started to make my way back to the cell as a guard escorted me. My legs wobbled, but I managed to make it.

With a pained groan, I could feel myself fall onto the table in the center of my cell. The most I could do right now was stare up at the ceiling in a daze.

I sighed. What's gotten into Shock? I peered at the clock and left the room. It was almost time for One-Ninety-Two's Trial. Time to check on her, I suppose. I made my way to her cell, passing other exhausted experiments and guards on the way.

I was still in pain as I rolled onto my stomach. There was something wrong with me, I knew it. I just couldn't figure it out. I looked at my hands which dangled over the edge of the table as I slowly started drifting off into another daze.
